The house
Romantic cottage with private garden on a hillside in the south of France.
The cottage is located on the Domaine Puech Malou, in the department of Tarn, in the south of Occitanie, formerly Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrénées.
Puech means hill in Occitan and Malou is an old apple variety). The estate dates from around 1800 and is situated on a sunny hillside at an altitude of 525 metres, in the middle of the countryside. It is part of the idyllic hamlet of Puech Malou, which belongs to the neighbouring commune of Teillet. Albi is less than 30 minutes away and Toulouse an hour. On a clear day, the peaks of the Pyrenees can be seen from the property.
The cottage can accommodate two people. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a very comfortable sitting area and a dining area. In early spring and late summer, the wood-burning stove ensures a pleasant temperature. From the living room you have access to a beautiful bedroom with comfortable beds with box springs. From the bedroom there is access to the bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet.
During your stay, you can enjoy a beautiful garden with flowers and trees of about 1000 m2. There are hydrangeas and cedars that provide shade on hot days. The cottage has a private terrace with teak furniture where you can enjoy your meals or simply admire the view of the hilly landscape in peace and quiet. Here the sunsets are spectacular and there are wonderful starry skies.
In short, all the ingredients are there for a well-deserved holiday for two or simply alone, to recharge your batteries away from it all.
The holiday home "de Cottage" has been awarded 3 *** stars by the Comité Départemental du Tourisme du Tarn, category of Meublés de Tourisme.

Surroundings
The property is located in the Tarn, named after the river of the same name. The Tarn has a mild climate influenced by both the Atlantic and the Mediterranean.
The region is rich in nature, culture and history. The landscapes are very varied: from low rolling plains to beautiful mountains. This great diversity of landscapes, beautiful nature, a rich architectural and cultural heritage, traditional riches and an ancient history give the Tarn a varied local colour and make it a privileged holiday destination.
The Tarn is home to a wide variety of landscapes and spectacular nature: from the mountains of the Monts de Lacaune and the Montagne Noire to the granite cliffs of the Sidobre, the vineyards of Gaillac and the charming Pays de Cocagne! You will also discover beautiful architectural sites such as the Bastides des Albigeoises and picturesque medieval villages such as Bruniquel, Puycelsi, Penne, Castelnau de Montmiral or Cordes sur Ciel. History buffs and even more beautiful French villages will be delighted to discover Lautrec, Ambialet, Lincou, Brousse le Château, St. Iziare, Coupiac and Plaisance. For those who don't think all this is enough, the castles, ruins and caves of the Cathars are within easy reach. For day trips, be sure to visit the medieval city of Carcassonne, Rodez with its Gothic cathedral, Millau with its masterful viaduct or Toulouse with its Renaissance palaces.
Albi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is situated on the river Tarn. The old centre of the episcopal city around the imposing Sainte Cécile cathedral consists of narrow streets with numerous shops and restaurants. The Palais de la Berbie now houses the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum and can be counted among the great contemporary museums of France. Albi is a charming city in southwest France with an infectious Mediterranean touch where you will certainly enjoy the typical art of living.

Reviews
David Goudsmit from Amstelveen,
Comment from Clément Courmont

Wauw! Chapeau
Judith & Jeroen
