Our spacious authentic, fully furnished, holiday home guarantees a comfortable and pleasant stay. The entire house has central heating.

Since 2 years, we have our own swimming pond of more than 20x12m equipped with various plants and waterfall. And on the slope we have planted a small vineyard. We live in the adjoining house ourselves and are available for help and advice.
Down in the valley, the village of Monestiés is among the 'les plus beaux villages de France' and is famous for the Chapelle Saint-Jacques with its 20 life-size statues in polychrome limestone, dating from 1490. There is also the musée Bajèn-Vega in the village.

Nous sommes restés 10 jours à La Coste, où nous avons été accueillis très chaleureusement par nos hôtes Ina et Hans, aux petits soins pour que notre séjour soit le plus agréable possible. Baignade avec les grenouilles, vue imprenable de la terrasse et des chambres, un vrai calme, des passages de portes un peu bas mais d'époque (attention aux bosses), de la lavande et des fleurs. Tout pour qu'on se sentent bien.

Wat hebben we heerlijk genoten van onze twee weken vakantie op A la Coste! Het ontvangst door Hans en Ina was fijn. We voelden ons direct op ons gemak.
De eerste week hadden we een hittegolf te pakken. Maar niet erg, op de ruime veranda hadden we genoeg schaduw en waaide altijd een lekker windje. En om echt te verkoelen gingen we regelmatig de zwemvijver in. Lekker dobberen tussen de kikkers en libellen.
Het huis bleef door de luiken en dikke muren ook aangenaam koel. ‘s Nachts de ramen van de slaapkamer lekker open. Door de horren geen last van muggen.
Iedere avond hebben we enorm genoten van de prachtige zonsondergang. Zelfs een keer vergezeld door de reetjes in de tuin. Geweldig!
We hebben ook regelmatig uitstapjes gedaan in de regio. De enorme brug van Millau, wijnfestival in Gaillac, prachtige straatjes van Cordes sur Ciel en nog veel meer. Het was allemaal mooi!
Wij hebben enorm genoten!
De gastvrijheid van Hans en Ina hebben daar ook zeker aan bijgedragen. Wat een fijne mensen!

We hebben absoluut genoten van onze 2 weken vakantie in Monestiés. Het huis is authentiek, lekker ruim en heel netjes. Alles wat je maar nodig hebt is aanwezig. Het uitzicht vanaf de veranda is onovertroffen. Daar krijg je geen genoeg van. De mooie en riante zwemvijver zorgt voor verkoeling op warme dagen. Kortom een heerlijke plek om vakantie te houden. Ook de omgeving is mooi en er is voldoende te zien en te doen. En, last but not least, Hans en Ina zijn super lieve en gastvrije mensen. Dank dat we onze vakantie bij jullie mochten doorbrengen. We komen graag nog eens terug.
Restaurants, food & wine
There are many restaurants in the vicinity (Monestiés, Salles, Cordes sur Ciel and Carmaux) and the city of Albi is only 15 minutes away by car.
The famous Gaillac wine region has many wine growers who also give you the opportunity to buy directly from the farm and of course to taste. The town of Gaillac is the centre of the region and 20 minutes away. There is a large annual wine festival where all the wine growers are present with their kiosks.
There are also many flea markets in the immediate vicinity where you can wander around for hours and enjoy local produce.
If you like it, you can also barbecue at home.
Activities
There is plenty of privacy and space around the house. The grounds directly around the house are suitable for outdoor games such as Kubb game, volleyball, football, badminton, boules etc. And what about waking up relaxed with your daily sports exercises in the morning sun or a refreshing dip in the large swimming pond. Dartboard, bocce balls and mountain bikes are available. Directly from the house, you can take many walks and bike rides. In the evening, you can fully enjoy the sunset ... on the terrace with a snack and a drink or just relaxing by or in the pool.
The centre of Monestiés is 5 minutes away by bike (downhill) where you can get your fresh baguette every day. The surrounding villages also have their own attractions....
Cagnac-les-Mines with its mining museum. The museum has been renovated in the past 3 years and now you can learn about the work of miners in the former coal mines here in the region in a real shaft. Exciting!
Cordes sur Ciel: The village was built on a rock in 1222 as a refuge for the Cathars. A typical artists' village with many small shops located on a pointed hill and visible from afar. You must have seen this during your stay in this area. In the summer months, you can take a little train to the top. Just outside the village is a nice glassworks with permanent demonstrations.
Carmaux with its weekly market of both goods (clothes, bags, leather, soap, pans, hats, tablecloths) and food (vegetables, fruit, fish, meat, cheese and take-away food). There are also a number of supermarkets in Carmaux for everyday shopping.
Albi is the larger city 15 minutes' drive away with, among other things, the Musée Toulouse Lautrec, very well known for 'Le Moulin Rouge'. And the beautiful cathedral of Albi built of bricks is on the Unesco world heritage list. An authentic city centre with cosy shops and good restaurants. We would be happy to advise you.
Gaillac: This cosy town is the centre of the Gaillac wine region. You can visit more than 30 wineries for a wine tasting whether rosé, red or white. A Whisky distillery also opened its doors a few years ago and whisky is now everywhere here. Also great fun to visit is the miniature train museum located just outside Gaillac.
In terms of sports, the water play park Cap Découverte is an absolute must. Teleski track, tobogganing, snowboarding, cable car, mountain biking, a course for BMX/skates/steps, table tennis tables, an air cushion course, too much to mention. But also a beautiful beach.
Lac Roucarié is on the other side of Monestiés, is a large lake with several beaches. You can also take a nice walk around the lake.
And of course many possibilities for wonderful trips by vtt. We have 2 mountain bikes available for you.
And for those who like variety and want to swap our large swimming pond for a day, there are several places to cool off in the water of the local rivers where you will find the necessary beaches.
