The house
Comfortable Mediterranean house on the Mediterranean SEA, quietly located, and with the mountains of the Pyrenees as hinterland.
Less than 5 minutes' walk from beautiful sandy beach with favourably priced tapas restaurants.
The house is on a quiet street of 5 terraced Mediterranean houses. Beautiful hinterland!
A fantastic place for a relaxing, active and enjoyable holiday.
Our house consists of 2 independent houses:
The MAIN HOUSE you will find on the 1st and 2nd floor. There are 3 bedrooms, for up to 5 persons. The house has its own roof terrace, where you sit freely and enjoy the view. There is also a fixed stone barbecue with chimney. Adjacent, via a sliding door, you have the kitchen with a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, and everything you need. There is a comfortable sitting area with 2 leather sofas, TV, etc.. At the back you have French balcony doors. The property has a new bathroom, and a washing machine and is equipped with reliable fibre optic WIFI.
On the ground floor, we offer a fully self-contained simple STUDIO-Apartment with back garden for 2 - 4 people. You can rent this in addition if you wish.
The flat on the ground floor for 2 - 4 pers. with private terrace and garden is available separately by arrangement, when occupied by 2 pers. the weekly price is 450,- .
Our village, Sainte Marie la Mer Plage, is a friendly seaside village with a small harbour, market and shops, no hotels and no high-rise buildings, no crowds, but tapas, terraces and good restaurants with favourable prices and good local wine.
Beautiful hinterland with the mountains of the Pyrenees, Cathar castles and medieval mountain villages. Culture in Perpignan at 14 km with museums, markets, music and street theatre.
From May to October it is summer here!
Charges for gas, electricity and water are included.
Parking in front of the door is free.
4 Bicycles are available and free to use.
Costs for final cleaning are 50,- for the main house, and 25,- for the studio flat on the ground floor.

Comfortable holiday home by the Mediterranean SEA, near beautiful sandy beach not far from Perpignan and the Spanish border.
Sainte Marie la Mer Plage is a quiet village with no hotels or high-rise buildings. From the house you cross the road and walk along a path past a 'jeu de boules' spot under old Mediterranean parasol pines to the beach in just 3 minutes.

Beste Liedeke en Sam,
Wij hebben in jullie huis aan zee (beide woningen hadden we gehuurd) de ultieme zon-zee en strandvakantie gehad. De woningen waren keurig uitgerust en van alle gemakken voorzien. En heel schoon. Voor iedereen die van het zonnige weer, en een verblijf aan de zandstranden van Sainte Marie Plage houdt een ECHTE AANRADER. We komen zeker een keer terug. BEDANKT!!!! O ja, nog leuker is om eerst een geheel verzorgde nacht te boeken in jullie herberg Le Troubadour in Boule d' Amont. Inclusief diner, ontbijt, lunch en het zwembad tussen de bergen.

Wij hebben in het bovenhuis gelogeerd en dat is prima bevallen. Het benedenhuis ziet er ook goed uit. Je zit zo aan het strand dat een nostalgisch rustige sfeer kent met diverse eetgelegenheden. Heel sainte Marie de mer/plage heeft die uitstraling. Kortom prima uitvalsbasis voor een fijne vakantie.

We hebben het erg naar ons zin gehad.
Dit is een kindvriendelijke accommodatie en als zodanig te promoten (alles is afsluitbaar, dicht bij zee, de tuin die omheind is zonder water als gevaar)

Restaurants, food & wine
A few minutes' walk from the house you will find a small supermarket with the newspaper, warm baguettes, fresh fruit and all daily necessities. There are several good restaurants and a tapas bar on the beach. The Catalan art of cooking, combining ingredients from 'Mer et Montagne', is very rewarding.
The area is famous for its good Roussillon wines. The caves in the area offer surprising specialties for the connoisseur. There is a wide choice of famous special wines such as Banyuls, Collioure and the muscatel of Rivesaltes.
In the village you can buy freshly caught fish of the day, which you can grill on your own roof terrace, or in the backyard.
Activities
The hinterland is beautiful with the mountains of the Pyrenees, Cathar castles like Peyrepertuse, and Queribus, and Mediterranean flora and fauna. A combination of sun, sea, mountains, nature, history, and delicious food and drink.
The region around the cosy French-Catalanian city of Perpignan has the highest number of sunshine hours in France, even in low season.
In the house you will find a cycling map and a folder with our own tips for attractions and excursions in the area. We have also made a folder with walking routes in the beautiful hinterland.
Several towns have nice markets with a selection of local products. Perpignan has a weekly brocante/antique market.

Further remarks
On the ground floor is a simple self-contained STUDIO APARTMENT (2 to max. 4 pers.), with bathroom, separate dining kitchen, and terrace and back garden. You can rent this flat in addition if you are on time.
We have a nice little village inn with a beautiful swimming pool in the Pyrenees, in the mountain village of Boule d'Amont, about 40 km away. If you want to arrive a day earlier, for example because of traffic, we offer the possibility of booking a double room including breakfast for 59,- per night.
