The house
On Domaine Les Roches in the municipality of Prayssac is our house with a large barn. We have created a guest house in the large barn. You can rent the main house alone or the guest house with it. This depends on the number of people. Our house is suitable for 6 people and has 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. You enter a hall where the stairs lead up. In the hall you can go right to the master bedroom with bathroom with toilet and left you go to the kitchen diner. Both the master bedroom and the kitchen diner have a door to the garden. The kitchen diner has a large dining table and a kitchen island with stools. This is a nice place for 10 people to eat, but there is also a 10-person table outside. Next to the kitchen is the scullery, where there is a 2nd toilet, cleaning equipment and a washing machine and dryer. In fine weather, laundry can be dried outside on the large clothesline near the orchard. There is also a hoover and ironing board.
You can go up the stairs in the hallway to the 2 bedrooms, a second bathroom and the living room. This bathroom also has a toilet. The bedrooms are next to each other and 1 bedroom has 2 single beds. The living room has a TV with playstation and DVDs. There are also many games and books available.
The guesthouse in the large barn has a large living room downstairs with an open kitchen. Besides the dishwasher, there is also a washing machine/dryer here. The open staircase leads upstairs where there are two bedrooms next to each other with two double beds. In the upstairs bathroom is also the toilet.
The living room has a TV with DVD player. There are many games and DVDs.
In the barn there is a table tennis table and other outdoor toys. There are garden chairs, parasols and sun beds. The saltwater pool is 4x10 metres.
The garden is fenced and there is plenty of fruit to pick in the summer months.
You rent the house for up to six people all to yourself. Peace, privacy and nature. If there are more than six of you, you can rent the guest house as well, which is ideal for 2 families or 3 couples or a family with grandparents, for example. We do not rent to groups of young people.
If you take a temporary subscription to NLziet, you can watch Dutch TV in the main house. In the guest house you can only watch DVDs.

Our house is surrounded by the vineyards of Cahors wines in the Lot valley. The village of Prayssac is a 5-minute drive away and within 15 minutes you are in the woods in the hills surrounding the Lot. In the woods around Belaye and Prayssac you can make lovely walks with your dog.
Prayssac is a village with 2 supermarkets, 3 bakers, 2 butchers, an italian specialty shop, an organic shop, a cinema, a bookshop, some nice clothes shops etc. There are also several restaurants and terraces in Prayssac.
The vineyards around Prayssac are famous for the black Cahors wine. Around Prayssac the vineyards are located in the valley of the Lot, but there are also many wine estates on the hills towards the other villages. In the hills around Prayssac you can make beautiful walks in the woods. There are many marked footpaths. At the tourist office of Prayssac you can pick up walking routes and also buy a fishing licence.
The Lot is much fished by anglers and is famous for its catfish.
There are boats and canoes for rent in Prayssac and surrounding villages.

Een prachtig mooi, rustiek huis. We waren direct verliefd. Je komt binnen in een zeer ruime en mooie keuken. De slaapkamers en badkamers waren netjes in orde. De tuin is gigantisch :-), de omgeving zo mooi. We waren voor de eerste keer op vakantie met ons hondje en zij heeft er ook enorm van genoten. Onze 2 kinderen hebben zich uren geamuseerd in het zwembad, of aan de pingpongtafel, ... Elke avond lekker gegeten door de BBQ die daar aanwezig was aan te steken. Op 5 minuten ben je bij 2 verschillende supermarkten. 1 mini nadeel vonden wij dat je minstens 1u15 moest rijden om een mooie grotere stad te gaan bezoeken. Maar dat hebben we niet aan ons hart laten komen, integendeel :-) we hebben hier 2 weken geleefd als God in Frankrijk. Dankjewel aan Josieneke, maar zeker ook aan Hetty en Anthony voor de warme ontvangst.

Inderdaad is Cahors vlakbij, maar niet zo hip. Wij gaan graag naar Montauban of naar Toulouse, zeker een dik uur rijden, maar dat doen wij inderdaad wel eens na 2 weken.
Gelukkig zijn er wel genoeg restaurants en leuke markten dichtbij en heeft Prayssac 2 leuke kledingwinkels!Adine de Planque from den Haag,
We hebben in les Roches een fantastische vakantieweek gehad met onze volwassen kinderen.
Het huis is een plaatje en gelegen op een prachtige plek. De charme van de bijzondere ligging vlakbij de rivier en daarbij een heerlijk zwembad ,een enorme tuin met hangmatten, een pingpongtafel , spelletjes etc etc maakte dat we heel erg veel tijd rondom het huis hebben doorgebracht.
Maar er waren ook andere mogelijkheden; bijvoorbeeld voor een partijtje tennis in het dorp, kanotochten, kleine antiekmarktjes en live muziek in het tapas tentje op de berg in het dorpje Belaye.
We hebben heel erg genoten en komen graag een keer terug,

We hebben een heerlijke tijd gehad in de gite op Domaine les Roches. Een fijn huis uitgerust met alles wat we nodig hadden, een fijn zwembad en een hele ruime fantastische tuin. Het huis is rustig gelegen in een mooie omgeving aan de rivier de Lot en tussen wijnvelden. Dankjewel Josieneke!

Restaurants, food & wine
The wineries of the Cahors wines are around our house, where you can taste and buy wine. There are many restaurants in Prayssac, most of which offer local food, but there are also plenty of very good restaurants in the area. There are also many food markets, flea markets ( attic clearance) and village festivals in summer.
Activities
Our house is in a hamlet near the lovely village of Prayssac and right next to the river Lot, The Lot is very popular with fishermen and you can rent a canoe in the next village. Prayssac has markets and terraces, restaurants and plenty of shops for daily shopping. The Dordogne with beautiful towns like Sarlat, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie and Rocamadour are within 1 hour's drive, but the Lot also has plenty of pretty medieval villages worth visiting. There are castles and caves and the city of Cahors is within half an hour's drive. Pradines near Cahors also has a fun tree-climbing park for children.

Additional price info and offers
The house can be rented together with the guest house for 10 people. For 6 people, only the house can be rented and then the guest house remains empty. The deposit is 1000 euros and for the gite alone 500 euros.
Prices are based on renting just the house or the house with the guest house.
Of course, you can also rent the house for 4 people. This is especially for 2 couples and for a family with older children a better option than the gite. The gite is really suitable for a family with smaller children.
The separate guesthouse (the gite) can only be booked last minute, because we only rent it separately when the main house is not rented.
The rental price includes bed and kitchen linen and final cleaning. If you would like an extra set of bed and kitchen linen for the second week, there will be an extra charge (40 euros pp). On top of the rental amount there is the tourist tax and the booking fee of gites.com. This is a small additional amount.
