The house
The gite is part of the beautiful and quietly located Font Cuberte. Font Cuberte consists of the gite and a former wine farm (Ferme) and is located on the border of the Lot and Dordogne in a rural setting with complete privacy. Deer sometimes stand at the window. Font Cuberte is located (within cycling distance) between Prayssac and Pomarede. Prayssac is a very pleasant village with all kinds of facilities such as nice restaurants. On Fridays there is the famous market where many people always come to buy their delicacies. You can also rent Font Cuberte (gite and farmhouse) in its entirety.
The gite shares the courtyard with the former wine farm, but is otherwise completely detached. The entrance is in the courtyard but the terrace is completely free and borders a lawn with trees and open views of the forest. Optimal privacy. The gite has a new bathroom (with rain shower) and all rooms have been refurbished. The kitchen/living room is cosy overlooking the terrace. The kitchen is equipped with a gas cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave oven and dishwasher. The living room has a cosy seating area around the wood-burning stove and a dining table. On the first floor are the bathroom (shower and toilet) and the two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have (new) Swiss-style double box springs.
In the wet room adjacent to the courtyard and also used by the ferme is a washing machine. The terrace in front of the gite is a great place to stay until late and in summer you can always seek shade under the trees. There is a garden table, loungers and bbq.
There is a sauna and hot tub (which can be used after consultation).
A pet is possible after consultation.

The region is sometimes called the Tuscany of France because of the beautiful hilly landscape and the nice climate both in summer and in the early and late season. Font Cuberte is at 30 minutes driving distance from the peage and Cahors. Below Prayssac the Lot flows, where you can make canoe trips and swim. The area also lends itself to nice walks and beautiful bicycle rides.

Wij hebben een heerlijke week in Font Cuberte gehad. Het is heel verzorgd en met smaak ingericht, ook het welkom met een lokaal flesje wijn en kaartje is erg gewaardeerd. Ook de restaurant, bezienswaardigheden tips waren goed en handig, het is een hele mooie omgeving met mooie, interessante dorpjes. Het was heel erg warm toen wij er waren maar met de mooie tuin en de kalmte was het uit te houden.

2 weken mogen verblijven in de gite van Font Cuberte. De gite is van veel gemakken voorzien en de fijne tuin is een groot pluspunt van deze gite.
Ook de betrokkenheid en contact met de verhuurder hebben wij als zeer prettig ervaren.

Wij hebben genoten van jullie prachtige gite. Een huis met grote tuin met veel mogelijkheden. Uitgebreide keuken. Boven de douche en 2 slaapkamers met heerlijke bedden. Wij beschikten over 2 ventilatoren wat een overbodige luxe was met deze temperaturen van 40 gr.
Iets van een overkapping op het teras zou wel wenselijk zijn aangezien daar heel de dag de zon op schijnt. Heerlijke hondvriendelijke tuin.
Kortom een heerlijke week gehad.

Wat leuk om te horen. Het weer was ongekend, volgend jaar toch maar een overkapping!
Restaurants, food & wine
The wine area of Cahors is of course world-famous for its most delicious wines. Also in the vicinity of Prayssac are a number of wine farms where the most delicious wines are served and sold. Culinary-wise the area is a voyage of discovery. And if you want to eat at home, you can buy the most delicious and fresh food at the Friday market in Prayssac.
Activities
In the house is a folder with all kinds of ideas and tips. PFont Cuberte is centrally located for visiting all kinds of sights in the area, starting with Prayssac itself. But also a visit to Belaye with its beautiful view of the Lot, the artists village of St Circ Lapopie, the rock-built Rocamadour or a visit to Sarlat, Cahors or Brive are all worthwhile.

The complex has an outdoor sauna and hot tub. The use of these is by arrangement.
