The house
The former wine farm is part of the beautifully located Font Cuberte. Font Cuberte consists of a former wine farm and a gite. It is located on the border of the Lot and Dordogne in a rural setting with complete privacy. Deer are sometimes at the window! Font Cuberte is located (within cycling distance) between Prayssac and Pomarede. Prayssac is a cosy village with all kinds of facilities such as nice restaurants. On Fridays there is the famous market where many people always come to buy their delicacies. You can also rent Font Cuberte (ferme and gite) in its entirety.
The Ferme, the former winery, shares its courtyard with the gite but is otherwise completely detached. The kitchen diner looks out onto the terrace, which is completely detached and adjoins a lawn with trees. From there, there are unobstructed views of the surrounding woods. Optimal privacy! The ferme equipped with a new kitchen.
The kitchen diner is equipped with a dining table, cooker, microwave, oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. In the living room, it is cosy to sit around the wood-burning stove. There is also a mezzanine to retreat to.
A new bathroom (with rain shower) has also been installed.
The first bedroom has a double Swissense box spring and the second, behind it, an Auping double bed.
What makes it complete is the great terrace where you can sit under a canopy until late in the summer. During the day it is nice to protect yourself from the sun and in the evening it is nice and cosy. The terrace also has an outdoor kitchen/bbq.
The wet room in the courtyard has a washing machine for shared use.
In the woodshed there is an outdoor sauna and hot tub (which can be used after consultation).
A pet is possible by arrangement.

The region is sometimes called the Tuscany of France because of the beautiful hilly landscape and the nice climate both in summer and in the early and late season. Font Cuberte is at 30 minutes driving distance from the peage and Cahors. Below Prayssac the Lot flows, where you can make canoe trips and swim. The area also lends itself to nice walks and beautiful bicycle rides.

Wij hebben de maand april in de ferme van Font Cuberte 'gewoond', want zo voelde het voor ons, als een thuis in het zuidwesten van Frankrijk! Een heerlijk huis met grote tuin in een prachtige omgeving aan het bos, met totale privacy. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien en heeft een gezellige woonkamer met open haard, fijne keuken, de slaapkamers zijn leuk ingericht en de bedden zijn zeer comfortabel. Alles heel schoon. Buiten lekker eten onder de overkapping die beschermt tegen de zon. In het dichtsbijzijnde dorpje Prayssac zijn voldoende winkels voor alle benodigde boodschappen en de markt op vrijdag is echt een must! Fantastische tijd gehad en wij komen zeker nog eens terug!

Heel fijn huis met alle wenselijke voorzieningen/benodigdheden. Heel verzorgd, alsmede ook een fijne tuin met o.a. een heerlijke overdekte plek om te eten en in de schaduw te zitten - en heel veel privacy. Heerlijk. We zaten in een zeer warme periode, maar het huis zelf bleef heerlijk koel. Prima plek ook om de omgeving te verkennen.

Het waren twee geweldige weken. Eerste week was erg heet en daarom veel tijd bij de Ferme gespendeerd. Hottub omgetoverd tot coldtub en daardoor prima uit te houden. Huis en de grote tuin zijn van alle gemakken voorzien, en meer...we wilden wel blijven; voelden ons helemaal thuis.

Restaurants, food & wine
The wine area of Cahors is of course world-famous for its most delicious wines. Also in the vicinity of Prayssac are a number of wine farms where the most delicious wines are served and sold. Culinary-wise the area is a voyage of discovery. And if you want to eat at home, you can buy the most delicious and fresh food at the Friday market in Prayssac.
Activities
In the house is a folder with all kinds of ideas and tips. Font Cuberte is centrally located for visiting all kinds of sights in the vicinity, starting with Prayssac itself. But also a visit to Belaye with its beautiful view on the Lot, the artists village St Circ Lapopie, the rock-built Rocamadour or a visit to Sarlat, Cahors or Brive are all worthwhile.

The complex has an outdoor sauna and hot tub. The use of these is by arrangement.
