The house
This holiday home is located in a small "Hameau" (hamlet) and has a well-kept, attractive and special interior. The spacious living room has a sofa, a dining area and a display case full of stuffed animals from the area. The kitchen is equipped with a built-in oven, a four-burner gas hob, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. There is a large bedroom with a double bed and a balcony. The smaller bedroom has a double bed and the tower room has a single bed. The bathroom has a bath, separate shower, toilet and double washbasin. The covered lounge terrace offers pleasant shade during the hot summer months and is a nice place to relax - lying in a deck chair - or to read a book. In the outdoor kitchen you can enjoy cooking and barbecuing, and in the outdoor shower and Tiny Pool you can cool down during the warm and hot summer days. On a beautiful spot on the hill, a lookout and a Cabane have been built where you can picnic with your children in nature. In short, an ideal holiday home to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Reviews
Manjana Louwage from België,
Merel Hazewindus from Ossendrecht,
Aanrader!
Restaurants, food & wine
In the vicinity are nice typical French markets and in many villages in July and August there are pleasant evening markets where you can enjoy a fresh and traditionally prepared, often organic meal with the French, such as once a week in the evening in Puy L'Evéque; eating along the Lot at long tables with music. Bring your own plates, glasses and cutlery! The house is located in the Cahors region, known for its red wine and delicious regional cuisine (duck breast, `confit de canard, mushrooms and truffles).
In the immediate vicinity you will find very attractive and child-friendly restaurants, from simple to very sophisticated with Michelin stars.
Also fun; a wine tasting and guided tour at for instance Chateau Chambert or Chateau La Berangeraie. Montcuq is situated on the pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostella. Every Sunday morning there is a market and you can buy the most beautiful and fresh regional products. And afterwards, drink coffee on the terrace at Café de France...
Activities
A beautiful and comfortable nature house, provided with all conveniences and accessories in a beautiful region with sloping hills, vineyards and woods, from where beautiful and varied walks can be made. It is a former 'Grange' (barn) that used to serve as a shelter for hunters and has been lovingly rebuilt and renovated. For the cycling enthusiasts, there are beautiful tours along the many vineyards in the vicinity of the river and for the walkers there are hiking trails ready to take during the walk. Swimming is possible in public swimming pools, recreational lakes and the river Lot.
There are numerous places of interest to visit, such as medieval towns, castles and caves. On the river Lot, you can canoe or just enjoy a boat trip from the picturesque town of Puy l'Eveque. Cahors is the capital of the Lot department with the famous medieval Pont Valentré and an old, cosy centre. East of Cahors is the beautiful mountain village of St.Cirq-Lapopie, but also the Zadkine museum in Les Arques and Bonaguil Castle near Fumel are worth a visit. So plenty of opportunities to explore the area!

Further remarks
September, in particular, is a wonderful month to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, with temperatures rising to a pleasant 25 to 30 degrees during the day. It is the time when the grapes and walnuts are harvested, when the smoke from a wood fire billows up here and there, when the leaves on the trees start to colour and when peace and quiet have returned. It is the month to take a beautiful autumnal walk or cycle ride along the Lot and enjoy the wonderful autumnal smells and colours, and when you return home to light the wood stove, grab a book and pour yourself a nice glass of Cahors wine.
