The house
A wooden house is like nature itself: it is alive, it is warm, it gives peace, space, energy and cosiness.
At the top of a hill with wide views over the valley lies L'arrivée, a chalet in wood stacked construction. L'arrivée has two characterful gîtes/maisonettes for up to eight people and four quirky chambres d'hôtes. All under one roof.
Our two gîtes/maisonettes ( +/- 80m2 including 20 m2 of north and south-facing terrace ) in the wood stacking system exude a special atmosphere. They are equipped for four people and comfortable in all seasons. Living room with TV ( Dutch and French channels ) and DVD player, open kitchen equipped with coffee maker, kettle, ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. The bathroom with double washbasin and shower (0.90x1.20) is also on the ground floor. The two bedrooms on the first floor are equipped with a double bed with separate mattresses (80x 200cm) and two single duvets. The barbecue can help ensure a pleasant stay.
You can relax under the trees in front of the house and enjoy the wide views. The swimming pool and outdoor kitchen with lounge complete the picture. Children and pets by arrangement.

Our house is located just outside the picturesque village of Autoire, one of the "plus beaux villages" of France. Autoire is situated in the department Lot, region Midi-Pyrenees, in the triangle Brive-Cahors-Figeac on the edge of the regional park "des Causses du Quercy". In this triangle, there are numerous places of interest and historical villages, among which is Rocamadour, one of the most visited pilgrimage sites of France.
The Lot has a lot to offer in the way of activities/sports, culture and gastronomy.
You will probably not have enough time to discover everything.

Restaurants, food & wine
Autoire lies east of Cahors and is part of the production area of the dark Cahors wines. The area also has its local production of Glanes wines.
The area has fine restaurants with regional specialties such as nuts, prunes, rocamadour cheeses, the wines of Glanes, foie gras and canard.
Activities
Autoire is situated in the triangle Cahors, Figeac and Brive, on the edge of the Parc naturel régional des Causses de Quercy. Within this area, especially in the summer months, there is plenty to do. Every town organises its own festival, market or fair. A regionally known, large market is the Saturday market in Figeac.
The summer festivals at the end of July in Autoire have a special fireworks, music and light show in which the rock face is also involved. Autoire is a picturesque village in the atmosphere of Anton Piek and a challenge to paint or draw.
The Lot has many picturesque villages. Autoire, Loubressac, Carennac, Cardaillac, Castelnau, St.Cirq Lapopie, Collonges la Rouge, are among the 100 most beautiful in France. They are definitely worth a visit. From L'arrivée several walks can be made, for example to the waterfall of Autoire and Gouffre de Padirac. Also a visit to Rocamadour, second most visited pilgrimage place of France, should not be missed. Horseback riding at the riding school at two kilometres, rock wall climbing, cycling in a varied and hilly environment, round trips, canoeing on various rivers, swimming in natural water or Aquapark at 10 minutes, golf at 5 minutes and fishing.

Ieder jaar komen wij, mijn man en ik naar Frouge, Autoire. Meestal in de Lente. De natuur is prachtig en het is meestal al heel lekker weer. Het bevalt ons zo goed dat wij na de eerste keer circa 10 jaar geleden, ieder jaar terugkomen. De accommodatie is top, Rian en Toine als gastvrouw en gastheer zijn geweldige mensen. Omdat ze er zelf al jaren wonen, kennen ze de streek goed en je kunt altijd een beroep op ze doen.
L'Arrivee in Frouge/Autroire is een echte aanrader als je in Frankrijk een vakantie wil boeken.Fam.de Jong from Dalem,
Wij verbleven voor 1 week in de Gite l’Arrivee van Toin en Rian met 4 personen. We werden heel hartelijk ontvangen in de tuin met een drankje. Het appartement was heerlijk ruim ( hoewel we door het warme weer weinig binnen zijn geweest) en van alle gemakken voorzien. Heerlijk bed, ondanks warmte toch goed geslapen door ventilator boven bed. Veel gebruik gemaakt van onze veranda (met weids uitzicht) en de naastgelegen tuin met zwembad. Heerlijk om bij thuiskomst een frisse duik te kunnen nemen. In de omgeving valt heel veel te zien en te beleven. Eén week is gewoon te kort! Mede door de hartelijkheid van Toin en Rian en de schitterende omgeving is dit een TOP vakantie week voor ons geweest.

Door omstandigheden, kapotte auto, zochten wij een verblijf in de Lotte voor 5 dagen. Gebeld met Rian/Toine en gelijk aangeboden om een maisonette te huren. Het was voor ons een schot in het duister maar zijn zeker niet teleurgesteld. Het was een mooie maisonette met een twee zijde een terras. Goede bedden, een vriendelijk en behulpzame gastvrouw en heer die ons geholpen hebben waar nodig. Mooie omgeving waarbij wij gebruik gemaakt hebben van de goede en uitgebreide adviezen van Rian (de gastvrouw). Heerlijk gegolft op nog geen 4 km van ons verblijf en mooie plekken bezocht zoals: Gouffre de Padirac, Figauc, Rocomodour, Autoire en een mooie omgeving waar je" heerlijk" kunt wandelen. Een aanrader!!
