The house
Looking for a comfortable holiday home with stunning views, in the middle of the rugged Languedoc countryside? Then this is a great choice!
From the terrace you have a wide view over a valley with a fantastic landscape: the red canyons ('les ruffes'), surrounded by vineyards and the garrigue on the hills. Directly from the house you can take beautiful walks through this nature reserve. Fifteen minutes away is Clermont l'Herault, with nice terraces, restaurants, a market, shops and supermarket and the lac du Salagou. The historic and cosy city of Montpellier and the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean are half an hour's drive away. You can also go golfing, horse riding, paragliding, mountain biking and sports climbing in the area.
Ideal for a Mediterranean, warm summer holiday or a spring or autumn break in the pleasant climate of Languedoc!
LES MARCASSINS
The house is part of a group of 10 holiday homes with Dutch owners. The houses are each located on 3000 m2 of private land and share a swimming pool and tennis court.
The house was thoroughly renovated in 2012 and can accommodate 6 people.

SURROUNDINGS
Les Marcassins is situated in the area of the river l'Herault, in the middle of the Languedoc at 40 minutes from the Mediterranean Sea. It has a lovely sunny climate and is mild in winter. At Christmas time it is sometimes still 20 degrees! Nearby, there are many attractions and lively cities such as the capital Montpellier, the Templar city la Couvertoirade, the Roman Pont du Gard, the nature reserve the Camargue and the medieval fortress city Carcassonne.

Activities
ACTIVITIES
The house is situated in a special landscape called Les Ruffes, 'the red area'. This refers to the red rocks in which streams have carved small canyons. A wonderful area to wander around; certainly for children an adventurous paradise where they can let their imagination run wild! There are also mountain bike trails through this area.
You can also make beautiful longer walks through the mountains, via hiking trails that connect to the GR network. You will pass through some spectacular areas, such as the Cirque l'infernet near Saint Guilhem le Desert and the Cirque de Moureze.
Only 20 minutes away is the Lac de Salagou, where you can swim and surf. It is a large lake surrounded by the red volcanic hills and rocks. There are a few tourist beaches and many quiet places along the shore. In the gorge l'Herault, you can kayak through the rapids. Rock climbing is also possible, for example in the fairytale Gorge du Joncas (20 minutes).

Het huis ligt op een prachtige plek, overal is de natuur om je heen. Struiken, bomen, heel veel vogels en vlinders.
Je hoort de nachtegaal, de wielewaal en zelfs de hop vliegt voorbij.
Natuurgebied met de "rode rotsen" voor de deur, waar je fijn kunt wandelen.
Schitterend uitzicht van af de terrassen en altijd een windje.
Een lekker bed, horren voor de ramen, luiken om alles koel te houden en een prachtige badkamer met een heerlijke douche.
Het zwembad is ook fijn om op hele warme dagen af te koelen.
Op een half uurtje rijden genoeg plaatsen om te bekijken: 0.a. Couvertoirade, Cirque de Navacelles, St Guilhem le Désert en Montpellier.
Boodschappen op een kwartiertje rijden te vinden.
3 weken lang een heerlijke vakantie gehad!!!
