The house

  • Quiet, built-up area

Situated in the heart of a lively 13thc village of Capestang (on the Canal du Midi) the restaurants, shops, cafes and twice weekly market are all just a few steps away. This large, spacious old French property with its 13thc tower (& resident owl) has just been refurbished to a very high standard and comprises of three houses - the Manoir, the Vigneron and the Grange which can rented separately or all together.

The Vigneron - sleeps 8 with accommodation on three floors. On the ground floor, there is a double bedroom, the kitchen and a shower room / toilet. The first floor houses the living room and the fun "Couve" bedroom. This room has a small ladder leading to an old couve which can hold 4 single mattresses. There is also a cot for a baby. The top floor has the double en-suite bedroom

Outside is a large gated courtyard, whilst to the side is a secluded patio garden with pool (9x 4.5 and 1.2 deep). There is also a BBQ, summer kitchen with drinks fridge, shower, cloakroom, table tennis and lots of teak garden furniture for relaxing. The church behind is lit at night and proves a wonderful backdrop to dinner!

Le Vigneron can be rented together with Le Manoir giving a total sleeping capacity for 20 guests.

There is also a separate property called The Grange which is rented without use of pool unless it is rented with the Manoir and the Vigneron. The Grange sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms with wheelchair access to one of the bedrooms and a wet room

This area of souuthern France is renowned for its gastronomy.
Including cassoulet, stuffed vegetables and tielle an octopus and tomatoe pie.
The region is well known for wine production. These include Fitou (a red wine), Muscat (a sweet white wine) and Tavel (a rosé wine).

Activities

The nearby Greenway of almost 12 km, was created on the route of the old railway line which once started from Colombiers, it now connects Capestang and the Canal du Midi, to the old station of Cruzy.
