Gite Balou

Next to our house, in one of the old cowsheds and the barn next to it, we, Lourenz, Jessica and the children Patrick and Floris, have created two flats.
We chose the name "Les trois Montagnes" because, before we left the Netherlands in 2002, we lived in Driebergen-Rijsenburg. (Three = Trois, mountains = Montagnes)
Coincidentally, the village Ganties where we live, is part of the area "Les Trois Vallée" where three mountains are prominent, namely; Pic du Gar, Pic du Cagire and Pic de Paloumère.
Les Trois Vallées in its turn is part of "Les Comminges Pyrénées" which in its turn is an area within the Haute-Garonne department.
The village of Ganties lies at the foot of the Pyrenees and is a wonderful starting point for excursions of various kinds.
You can make extensive walks, go mountain biking for hours on marked trails, and visit many cities.
Furthermore, in the vicinity you can go paragliding, horseback riding, rafting, play golf and tennis, in fact too much to mention.
As for cities, there are nearby the nice towns of St.Gaudens, Salies de Sulat, and St.Girons.
Slightly further away but no less worthwhile are Bagneres de Luchon, Tarbes, Pau, Lourdes, Toulouse, Foix and Garcassonne, to name but a few places.
You will certainly not be bored with us, although it is of course also delicious to sit down with a good book by the pool or under the walnut tree.
The pool is fenced and therefore child friendly.
Because it is not for nothing that we say you can enjoy the 3 R's of Space, Rest and Recreation.
The children can go-carting, play darts, table tennis and there is a real tree house.
After a visit to our area you will surely say that you have seen France as France should be. Here you can still enjoy places without mass tourism.

We can also provide a filled fridge on the basis of a shopping list compiled by you, so that you don't have to bring your own groceries for the first few days.

You can get fresh milk every day from our "boerman", and we will get bread for you.
With this information we hope that we have made you enthusiastic to rent a flat with us so that you can experience at first hand what we mean with the 3 R's.
