The property is located on the village square of Saint-Denis in region de Gard. An 8-minute drive from Saint-Ambroix and also a 15-minute drive from Barjac. Old buildings, quaint little streets. Within walking distance swimming river Cèze for some sunbathing, reading or a fresh (morning) swim. A quiet area but not remote. Within no time you are at all the beautiful sights the Gard and the Ardèche have to offer. There is always something to do that suits you. The same property also houses gîte Romarin, Anis and Lavande.

De tijd is omgevlogen. Super jammer maar het betekent wel dat we het naar ons zin hebben gehad. Jullie hebben een mooie gîtes, die van alle gemakken is voorzien. En in de omgeving is genoeg te doen. Nu was de temperatuur de afgelopen dagen erg hoog, waardoor we de gedachte uitstapjes gedeeltelijk hebben vervangen voor door zwemmen in de rivier, ook geen straf.
Aanraders: Avignon, mooie stad die de moeite van het bezoeken waard is. Kanovaren bij Cap Canoe, Le Pont d'Arc. Wel op tijd gaan want het is mega druk. En wat iedereen al schrijft; eten bij La Banque. Goede prijs en kwaliteit en een mooie tuin om in te zitten. De moeite waard om nog eens terug te komen in deze omgeving. Het liefst als het ietjes kouder is. Oh ja, en vergeet de leuke markten niet te bezoeken. We hebben genoten!Familie de Vos from Nederland,
Op onze doorreis naar Spanje 3 nachten verbleven in jullie fantastische gîte Olive. Wat sfeervol ingericht en van alle gemakken voorzien. Heerlijk tot rust gekomen, de bedden liggen geweldig. De marktjes in Saint-Ambroix en Joyeuse bezocht. Superleuk vooral de markt van Joyeuse een echte aanrader. De grootste in de regio. Verder lekker gezwommen in de buurt van Vallon pont d'Arc. Eten bij het restaurantje aan de rivier is prima. Onze laatste avond gegeten bij La Banque, Super, daar moet je zijn geweest! Kortom wij hebben genoten!

We hebben een heerlijke week gehad in dit superleuke appartement. Zo leuk om nu eindelijk alles eens gezoen te hebben. Het is allemaal prachtig geworden. Dank jullie wel voor de leuke en gezellige week. Onze week in Olive is omgevlogen maar met alle leuke dingen die we hebben gedaan voelt het eigenlijk als meer dan een week. Vallon Pont d'Arc, Lac Villefort, kanoën en natuurlijk leuke markt(en) bezoeken!
Restaurants, food & wine
Barjac (Gard) is 15 minutes away from the gite and has numerous restaurants and terraces. Every Friday there is a beautiful market in Barjac where you can buy delicious tapas, olives, cheeses, vegetables, bread and wines and other typical French products. In the Gard, there are many wine houses where you can taste and buy wine. But also on the many markets in the area, the wine houses are often represented. On every day of the week, you could visit a market.
Activities
The village of Saint-Denis is located in region Gard and near the Ardeche. Between Barjac and Saint-Ambroix. There are plenty of activities to do and sights to see. Beautiful cities such as Nîmes, Avignon, Aubenas, Uzès, Arles, Montpellier are all in the region. Especially in the Ardèche there is much to do such as canoeing, cycling, the climbing forest, beautiful cities, hiking and swimming in the rivers. The historic Pont du Gard (Roman aqueduct) is worth a visit but the impressive Gorges de L'Ardèche is also nearby. There are wonderful caves to visit, also a super fun outing for children. In the Cevennes, a nature reserve, you can hike and for the cycling enthusiast, Mont Ventoux or Mont Bouquet are in the region. Everything is possible in this area, beautiful cities, nice trips, culture or sports. But also those nice markets; every day there is a market somewhere like Barjac, Saint-Ambroix, Joyeuse, Uzès, too much to mention! At walking distance from Gîtes NouLou is the Cèze river. There you can swim, sunbathe, play, fish or relax under the trees. Ideal for children but also for adults. We offer a wagon so you can easily take your things with you. A ladies' and men's sports bikes (with child seat) are also available.

Further remarks
Gîtes Olive of gîtes NouLou is on the ground floor of the property directly on the village square. The kitchen and 1 bedroom have French doors to this square which also have shutters against the (sun) light. The entrance is through a coeur, which is the central entrance to NouLou's 4 flats. As the gîte does not have its own terrace, you may also use this central hall where there is a fine, large dining set. Gîte Olive is a fine base for active guests who go out during their holiday and then return to a gîte equipped with all amenities. A spacious gîte that is competitively priced.
