The house
Our bungalow on the border of the Ardeche in the Gard is detached on a spacious plot on holiday park Le Mattas in the village of Méjannes Le Clap. The surroundings are wooded and from our "terrace of honour" we have a beautiful view over the peaks of the Cevennes.
Naturally, Wi fi is available for free on the park.
There is a modern open kitchen equipped with all possible appliances and extensive cookware for lovers, such as:

The bathroom also houses the washing machine.
All rooms can be heated electrically.
There are two complete garden sets on the terraces around the house. In addition, deck chairs and cushions, sun beds and parasol.
We ourselves like - during the many beautiful summer evenings - to prepare our meals outside. For this purpose, there is a large griddle which can be connected outside.
Because of its location and vegetation, you will enjoy optimum privacy and views.
Your car is parked in front of the bungalow.

At about 3 km. from the village of Méjannes le Clap, our gite is situated in a unique location on 800 m2 land on the edge of the hillside bungalow park 'Le Mattas', with lots of green for optimal privacy and with excellent facilities. The swimming pool is 20x10 metres (for general use) and the paddling pool is 8x4 metres. There are two tennis courts, volleyball field, football field, two jeux de boules courts, table tennis and a small playground. Next to the swimming pool is a large barbecue for joint use. In the village there is a supermarket and a bakery. In the high season, bread is normally sold at the reception desk in the park.
Méjannes le Clap is situated in the beautiful area of the Gard, which is bordered by the Ardèche and the Cévennes (about half an hour's drive) with mountains, rugged forests and remote villages and on the south side (about 1.5 hours drive) the Camargue. On the east side the area borders on the Provence.
In the immediate vicinity, you can enjoy visits to towns and villages such as Uzès, Alès, Barjac and Saint Ambroix. Nimes and Avignon are also easy to drive to.
Nature and space are overwhelming, with evergreen forests and small rivers.
The beautiful stalactite cave "Grotte de la Salamandre" is only a few minutes away from the park.
The sports enthusiasts among you can fully enjoy the many possibilities, such as canoeing, hiking, cycling, mountain climbing and mountain biking.
From the terrace you have a beautiful view of the Cevennes (in the evening with the setting sun). At the end of the garden there is a gravel path that directly borders the extensive nature reserve.

Heerlijk huisje op een prachtig park. Wij waren er met twee kleine kinderen, die zich geweldig vermaakt hebben in het fijne zwembad. Het park is wijds genoeg om ook voor een rustige vakantie te boeken. De omgeving is schitterend, en het ere plekje om de zonsondergang te bekijken is prachtig.

Restaurants, food & wine
There are many restaurants in the area with cosy terraces for every budget. Some restaurants have a Michelin star.
The wines from this area are well known, so a visit to one of the many caves to make your own choice is highly recommended.
Activities
At Le Mattas park, you will find various recreational facilities, such as a spacious swimming pool with separate children's pool, tennis courts, children's playground, bowling alley and volleyball field.
It is all just a few minutes' walk from the bungalow.
A few minutes away by car flows the river Cèze, where you can fish (rods are provided) or swim.
There is also much to do culturally. Think of the music and street festivals, the museums, the many (antique) markets, the Arena in Nimes and the Roman waterworks at Pont du Gard.

You can use all the facilities available in our bungalow during your stay.
All we expect from you is that you take good care of our belongings and leave the bungalow clean and tidy when you leave.
We are sure you will feel at home. If you have any questions, we will be happy to answer them.
There is a folder available with instructions for use of all equipment and other things that are important to know during your stay.

Outside high season, electricity costs are charged.
Of course, Wi fi is available free of charge on the park.

Additional price info and offers
High season 2024 is week 27 to 39 €832 per week, if longer than a week then from the 2nd week €40 discount per week.
All other weeks are low season € 569 per week, if longer than a week then from the 2nd week € 40 discount per week.
The rental price includes the consumption of 60 Kwh per week. Any additional consumption will be settled via your deposit at the local rate.
Please note: Charging of electric or hybrid cars is not allowed due to fire hazard. There are charging points in the village.
Prices exclude tourist tax, depending on number of persons: €0.80 to €2.10 per person, per night, only for guests over 18 years old.
Conditions
We aim to make your stay as pleasant as possible so that you are happy to book with us again next time.
We have therefore drawn up a few simple rules.
- The rental period starts at 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon and ends at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning.
- No cleaning costs will be charged.
- We expect you to leave the bungalow tidy and neat for the guests after you when you leave, i.e.: bins/trash cans empty, fridge empty, clean and on setting 1 and
close of course.
- All bath and hand towels should be back in the cupboards clean, so bringing your own set of towels for the last few days is advisable/necessary.
- Duvets and pillows are provided, please bring your own fitted sheets and duvet covers.
- We request that you take note of and follow the internal regulations of Le Mattas, which are posted in the bungalow.
- No pets are allowed in the bungalow.
- If you wish, you must take out your own cancellation insurance.
- Down payments are non-refundable.
- There is a binder in the bungalow containing practical information about the appliances and the like. We ask/advise you to read it.
- Should anything break during your stay, which can happen, please notify us. We can then arrange for a replacement.
Booking
You can make reservations by e-mail, whats-app, telephone or letter.
- Payment is in two instalments.
Your reservation is final after payment of 50% of the rent. You will then receive confirmation of the reserved period by e-mail or post.
- Payment of the second instalment, including the deposit, will be made to the same bank account no later than 1 May 2024.
- You will receive the key procedure from us well before your departure.
