Mas du Pommier - La Magnanerie

The Mas du Pommier is located in the Cévennes, Ardeche/Gard region. A beautifully restored mas made of natural stone on 13,000 square metres of land.
It is an old manor house that is already listed on maps from the 1850s. At first it was a post office and later it was converted into a farm and wine was cultivated.
Today we live here and rent out three gîtes in the summer months.
We also manage the house and farm, as well as 100 fruit trees on the 13,000 square metre property.

La Magnanerie is a separate part of the building. The basement was formerly used as a stable and is now Maria's weaving workshop.
Above it used to be the silkworm farm, which was called the "Magnanerie". Today the Magnanerie is a holiday home for 4, optionally 5 people.

The high room and the quarry stone walls in the living area are impressive.
The holiday flat comprises the living area, dining area, a spacious, fully equipped kitchen, the bathroom and the gallery with the sleeping area above.
There is a double bed and a single bed on the gallery, which is reached via a staircase. There is a sofa bed in the living room, which becomes a second sofa during the day.

The bathroom is equipped with a large shower, washbasin, WC and washing machine.

The Magnanerie also has a private covered outdoor seating area, with dining table and benches, directly in front of the entrance door.
There is also a small table with armchairs to enjoy a juice, tea or wine in the evening.
Our guests usually use the outdoor area for all meals - it is summer after all!

In the picturesque inner courtyard with its large lime tree, there are beer tables, benches and charcoal barbecues.
Behind the wall are the orchard and the pool on the 13,000 square metre property.

The kitchen is equipped with

On the open gallery is the separate sleeping area, equipped with
- 2 single beds that can be combined as a double bed, 2 metres x 1.60 metres
- Optional extra bed or cot
- 2 bedside tables and reading lamps
- Wardrobe

In front of the flat in the covered area
- Private outdoor seating area with dining table and benches
- Small table with three armchairs

In the courtyard under the lime tree
- Beer table with benches
- Charcoal barbecue

We are sometimes asked what is available.
"Do you need to bring dishcloths, is there washing-up liquid, etc.?"

You will find the following in the kitchen when you arrive:
- 1 salt shaker, like at Rewe or Aldi, min. 100 grams.
- 1 pepper shaker, like at Rewe or Aldi, min. 40 grams.
- 1 bottle of olive oil, as at Rewe or Aldi, min. 250 ml.
- 1 bottle of red wine vinegar, like at Rewe or Aldi, min. 200 ml.
- 1 bottle of mineral water with CO², cold in the fridge.
- 1 bottle of wine, red, rose or white wine, cold in the fridge.
- Ice cubes in the freezer compartment of the fridge for the arrival sip.
- Washing-up brush, washing-up sponge, dishcloth
- Washing-up liquid, "dishwashing liquid"
- 2 kitchen towels
- 1 kitchen roll, "wipe-and-go" so to speak
- ...as well as pots, plates, cups, etc. pp.
- A filter machine with paper filters is the basic equipment of the gîte.
- We can also provide a French press as an alternative if you let us know in advance.

Cleaning utensils are provided as a minimum:
- Broom, dustpan, cleaning bucket, floor mop
- All-purpose cleaner
- WC cleaner

Toilet paper
- 2 rolls of toilet paper are available for the start of your holiday.

Towels
- 1 normal towel per person in the bathroom
- 1 larger towel per person is in the bathroom
- Please bring your own, not provided: Large pool towels for sunbathing or use by the pool
- Bed linen is provided and the beds are made up, of course!

There are two beer table combinations in the inner courtyard and a charcoal barbecue is available for each gîte. Charcoal and kindling are not provided.
