The house
This recent holiday home, all on the ground floor, has every comfort for 6 people.
Around the house is an enclosed garden with private swimming pool (secured with a tarpaulin, according to French law).
With direct access to the house, you have a garage. (Ideal to safely store bicycles)
The living room and open kitchen, as well as the bedroom with dressing room, washbasin, toilet and shower, open onto a large, south-facing terrace (38 m²) with dining table and 6 chairs. Both the living room and the bedroom have air conditioning.
The 3 other bedrooms are north facing and have each a built-in wardrobe and a bathroom with washbasin and shower. (Separate toilet) In the corridor of the bedrooms there is another built-in cupboard, ideal in combination with the bathroom.

Le fil rouge is located in a quiet area, within walking distance of the charming village of Arpaillargues, surrounded by vineyards and garrigue.
In the village you will find a bakery, grocery shop, pharmacy, doctor, restaurants...
The surroundings offer countless possibilities for cultural, sportive and culinary excursions.
At a 10 minutes drive from Le fil rouge you find France's oldest duchy, Uzès, with its cosy and lively "Place aux Herbes", where a typical French market is held on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.
Arpaillargues is situated in the department Gard (Languedoc-Roussillon) in the direct neighbourhood of the Pont du Gard, the impressive Roman aqueduct. The structure is on the World Heritage List of Unesco and is well worth a visit.
The holiday home is very centrally located, to plan trips to Nîmes, Avignon, with its famous festival (July), Orange, Arles, the Camargue, the Mediterranean, the Mont Ventoux (July 14, 2016: Tour de France!) and so many other tourist attractions, all at less than an hour's drive.

We hadden een top-week in Le fil rouge. Het vakantiehuis is nog mooier en groter dan op foto's te zien was. Heel gerieflijk, niets op aan te merken. In de omgeving valt er heel wat te bezoeken. Onze toppers waren Nîmes, Pont du Gard, Lussan, Uzès, Musée 1900 en .... Bedankt voor alles! Fam.De Koker

Wat leuk om terug te zijn in dit prachtig stukje wereld. Het huis, de tuin en het zwembad zijn uitstekend verzorgd en heel comfortabel. Onze complimenten. We hebben genoten, te meer omdat het in deze oktobermaand gewoon zomer is gebleven: 14 dagen zon en temperaturen tot boven de 30 graden. Dank voor alles. Manja en Theo

Ook dit jaar hebben we terug een ongelofelijk mooie tijd gehad in jullie vakantiehuis. Het voelt hier ondertussen voor ons al een beetje als "thuiskomen". De uitstappen naar Les Baux (Carrières), Orange, Nîmes, Montpellier en Saint-Quentin waren zeker de moeite waard. De sfeer, het lekkere eten, het zwembad, het mooie gerieflijke, propere en comfortabele huis, de vele plekjes om gezellig te zitten vinden wij super! We komen graag terug!
Restaurants, food & wine
Every day, you can enjoy a quiet, convivial meal at Le fil rouge. A good wine on the terrace, a barbecue in the garden...you don't really have to leave the house to enjoy yourself.
If you prefer not to spend every day in the kitchen, you will find in the surroundings of Le fil rouge at walking distance a few restaurants in a varied price range.
5 km further, in Uzès, you have a very wide choice of restaurants. Most of them are situated in one of the historic and beautifully restored buildings around the "Place aux Herbes", but also outside Uzès there are many good restaurants.
Almost every village has its own cave where you can taste the wines of the Côtes du Rhône. Specific to the region is the wine "Duché d'Uzés" . You can discover the delicious rosés, white and red wines at about twenty local wine farmers!
Activities
In terms of sporting activities, there are beautiful signposted walks in the immediate vicinity, including in the garrigue, the Val d'Eure around Uzès....
Also mapped out bicycle and mountain bike routes in the underlying garrigue are definitely recommended. You can choose from many routes through vineyards, picturesque villages, along the river Gardon, up to the medieval aqueduct 'Pont du Gard'. You can bring your own bike or rent one in the neighbourhood.
Kayaking on the Gardon, with a spectacular view on the Pont du Gard, is one of the top activities in the area.
Golf enthusiasts can play on the 9-hole golf course in Uzès.
