The house
La Maisonnette is situated on a short distance from the main building and from the stables. It has 2 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom/WC, a well-equipped modern kitchen (with electric/gas cooker, electric oven, fridge/freezer, micro-wave, coffeemaker, dishwasher, washing machine) and a living room with TV/SAT. The large doors lead to the sheltered terrace (with barbecue), surrounded by a hedge and - on one side - trees, behind which you will find the pool. At some distance are the stables, with entry on the other side.

Domaine de La Flotte is an estate situated on the ´Col de La Flotte´ where you have a beautiful view of the Pyrenees, is an oasis of quiet, wooded hills and meadows.
You can make magnificent walks here and enjoy the unspoilt nature or explore the surroundings on a mountain-bike. You can hire one of the horses and go for a ride in the hillside, with guide Manuel.
You can make use of the (shared) swimming pool (round, 6 m) or go to one of the nearby lakes: Lac Montbel or Lac de Puivert, where you can swim, surf, sail or hire a pedalo.
In Chalabre, only a 10 minutes drive away, you will find shops, a supermarket, a bank and restaurants.
There is a market every Monday morning in Mirepoix (25 minutes driving).

Good restaurants between 10 and 20 minutes driving (Rivel, Chalabre, Mirepoix en Limoux)
Limoux is known for its "blanquette", similar to champaign but as many say: much better!
Great wines can be bought all around, especially direction Corbières or Minervois.
Activities
Banks, shops, bakery and good restaurants within 10 mins at Chalabre, 20 mins at Mirepoix and 25 mins at Limoux (markets on Friday).
The Lac de Montbel with its beaches is at 20 mins distance. Carcassonne is half an hour away. Cathar castles are all within reach (Quéribus, Peyrepertuse, Montségur...) as is the spectacular "Gorges de Galamus" (canyon).
River activities: canoeing, rafting and kayaking and river swimming in the Aude. The area around Quillan and Axat is ideal for white water rafting, canoeing and canyoning.
A climb up the Pech de Bugarach is worth doing! Or a visit to Rennes-le-Château!
The spectacular Bastide town of Mirepoix is 30 minutes drive, a traditional market is held here every Monday.
