Mas Vigneron

In the sunny south of France, amidst vineyards, are our cosy authentic holiday home and gîte. The Minervois - situated between the mountain ranges of the Corbières and the Montagne Noire - is a lovely, gently sloping wine region. At a distance of about forty kilometres, you can spend a day at the beach and then recover for days in our oasis of peace and quiet.

The house is located about 200 metres from the main road in a cul-de-sac leading to the vineyard. The walls of our house are about half a metre thick and the relatively small windows keep the heat out. The house is part of a former hamlet , built around a small château.
The vegetation is very old, tall plane trees and poplars where, when the wind blows, the sound sometimes reminds you of more northern regions.
The house or the whole building is at the end of a cobbled path leading to the vineyards. It is a quiet spot, not too lonely on the edge of a farming community. Puichéric is ± 2 km away where you can walk or cycle (2 free bikes available) along the Canal du Midi to get delicious croissants in the morning and where everything is for sale.

Layout and layout of house and garden

The house is an elongated building of which the gite is a separate free part. The gite is at the front of the house and faces south. It comes with two terraces,one covered 'outside dining room' at the front of the house and a second terrace in the garden by the pool ( 7mx5m) for sunbathing. Entering through a private front door, you suddenly find yourself in a surprisingly large high room, 'loft' type. White plastered walls, concrete poured floors and thereby an interior of the 'French campaign'. The kitchen area is cosy with hob and combi oven;Sleeping area is on the cool side so you can sleep with the windows open. The adjoining small private shower room has grey tadelakt walls with a spacious shower, sink and toilet.
The pool is salt-based and located in the private backyard. Our cottage overlooks the pool and also has a separate shaded terrace with patio furniture and direct access to the pool. The sun terrace is located around the pool and is equipped with loungers and chairs. The pool is child-friendly.After swimming, you can immediately embark on a lovely walk or bike ride through the vineyard and along the Canal du Midi, and stop by the farmer for fresh fruit, vegetables and a bottle of wine.
There is also a cupboard full of reading books, comics and board games. The entire domain is equipped with WIFI both in the gîte and outside. The ground-floor gîte is suitable for 2 people. The hostess and host have their holiday home next door, their 'outside' is at the back of the house: the two houses are well separated in terms of privacy.
The house used to be lived in by the winegrower and we have turned it into a cosy holiday home with 1 Gite while retaining its original character surrounded by vineyards and crickets. CLEANING, TOWELS AND LINEN INCLUDED.
In short guests can enjoy a special place that deserves the appropriate predicate: 'like god in France' the house is located in the Mediterranean part of the Aude > Sunshine!
