The house
Where the front of the house radiates modesty, a world opens up for you after entering. A large, luxuriously fitted kitchen, fully equipped and directly connected to the spacious living room. From this living room there is a truly fantastic view over the garden and vineyards of Pouzols-Minervois and Mailhac.
In the garden full of privacy there is a large swimming pool, surrounded by several places for undisturbed sunbathing. The garden also has a terrace with a large -wood fired- barbecue on which you can prepare the most delicious dishes. Traditionally, this is done on 'souches' (wine stumps), from grubbed up vineyards.
Under a starry sky and the atmospheric soft blue light of the swimming pool, the veranda provides a wonderful shelter for a sultry summer evening.
The air-conditioned house is a true paradise for both young and old and at the same time offers all the peace and quiet that a person could wish for. But the hustle and bustle is just around the corner, for which you can deviate to Narbonne, Béziers or one of the other large cities in the area. These offer a good starting point for both an afternoon of sniffing up culture and an evening of pleasant dining. The beach, several villages for a cultural/historical day out, a large lake and several rivers are nearby.
The house also has a spacious bathroom with separate toilet. Both on the ground floor and the first floor there are double bedrooms, so the house is suitable for 4 persons. The beds are of excellent quality.
The house is owned by a private French owner, but the rental procedure is conducted entirely in Dutch. You will also maintain contact in Dutch.
Once you have been in this beautiful and special house, you will definitely come back!

Restaurants, food & wine
Apart from a small bakery and the "allo allo" peddlers, you will probably find several large supermarkets at a maximum distance of 10 km for your groceries.
Wine can be bought in ample quantities in the village from the largest cave in the Minervois, both in bottles and in 5 or 10 litre barrels. This cave produces the best wines from the region and of course its own extraordinarily tasty wines.
For a restaurant you don't have to look far, good restaurants can be found within a 5 minutes drive.
Activities
At the Mediterranean Sea, you will find many cosy seaside resorts and very spacious, clean sandy beaches. Also the rivers (like the Cesse near Bize) are perfect for a day of sunbathing and swimming.
Between October and February, there is the possibility to ski in the village "Camurac", at 2 hours driving distance from Pouzols-Minervois. If you go with the navigation system, it is inevitable that you will be sent through narrow, but passable roads with moreover -beautiful- surroundings. The travel time is then +/- 3 hours.
There are plenty of opportunities for walking and cycling and... There are no traffic jams; you imagine yourself to be back in time. Also the route to the beach is in high season traffic-free and it remains a pleasure to drive especially the piece between Narbonne and Narbonne-Plage because of the beautiful nature. A tennis court, football field and a "jeu de boule" square are within walking distance.
