The house
Holiday home La Clape is furnished in a modern and stylish way. The cottage was completely renovated in 2018 with new kitchen, new bathroom and new stylish furnishings. The cottage is suitable for 2 to 3 people. Dogs are not allowed.
Ground floor: cosy sitting room with 2-person sofa bed, TV with satellite connection, CD player, wifi, dining area, fully equipped kitchen with fridge, 3-burner hob, microwave/grill, coffee machine, bathroom with washbasin, shower, toilet and washing machine.
First floor: mezzanine with double bed.
Terrace and covered veranda with garden furniture and sunshade. There is free wifi in the cottage.
Pets are not allowed.

Cottage 'La Clape' is situated in the lagoon area near Gruissan, an old fishing village on the Mediterranean, 15 km from Narbonne, in the Aude. Cottage 'La Clape' is a semi-detached corner house, situated on the edge of the holiday district Les Ayguades, at 4 km distance from Gruissan, a cosy old fishing village with small alleys, shops, restaurants and terraces. It is situated opposite the nature reserve La Clape, a limestone massif with special vegetation and many vineyards, where you can walk and cycle. From the house it is a 2-minute walk to the lagoon. The beautiful wide and endless sandy beach is a 15 minute walk away.

Heerlijke vakantie in zuid Frankrijk. Zelfs in oktober 23-24 graden. Veel zon. Het huisje wat uitstekend en aan alles gedacht. Heel Hollands ingericht. Alleen het aardappelschil mesje ontbreekt. 😂 . Zeer aan te bevelen. Heerlijk bed.

Genoten van omgeving, huisje en gelukkig het mooie weer. Goed ingericht huisje.

We hebben genoten in het huisje, heerlijk schoon en alles aanwezig. Een fijn terras, prima bed en ventilatoren voor als het te warm is. Een winkeltje vlakbij voor een vers gebakken broodje en een fles wijn e.d.
Voor racefietsen minder geschikt vanwege de scherpe stenen op sommige fietspaden, voor een mountainbike prima! stranden schoon en dichtbij, ook een fijne uitvalsbasis voor bezoeken aan Narbonne, Beziers en Carcassonne we hebben er 17 fijne dagen gehad, echt een aanrader!
Restaurants, food & wine
Gruissan has several fish restaurants offering delicious local fish specialities. Freshly caught fish can be sampled every day at the old port. At the end of the pier at Gruissan-Plage you can enjoy oysters and mussels.
Wine is grown extensively in the region. Try the delicious local Languedoc-Roussillon wines: La Clape, Hospitalet, Chateau Ricardelle.
Activities
The whole area, especially the nature reserve La Clape, offers excellent walking and cycling opportunities, good cycling paths connect the area Les Ayguades with Gruissan, Narbonne-Plage and Narbonne.
The wine museum "La Cite de la Vigne et du Vin" is worth a visit.
Interesting are the salt flats of Ile Saint Martin at Gruissan, with an ecomuseum on the history of salt production.
In Gruissan there is a windsurfing and sailing school. Near Ayguades there is an equestrian centre where you can go on horseback rides through La Clape. In the summer there is a kart track, mini-golf and an amusement park for children.
Narbonne (10 km) is a real Mediterranean city with squares and the beautiful cathedral Saint-Just with the adjacent monastery.
Abbaye Fontfroide: a magnificent 11th century abbey, 14 km south-west of Narbonne; absolutely worth a visit with its beautiful cloister.
Furthermore, also Beziers (30 km), Sete (80 km), Perpignan (80 km), the medieval fortified city of Carcassonne (75 km) and even Barcelona (200 km) are easily accessible and very worthwhile.

We rent another cottage in Gruissan: cottage Lagoon. The Lagune cottage is situated between the lagoon and the beach of Gruissan, at 100 metres from the beach. Cottage Lagune and cottage La Clape are 1 km from each other (12 minutes walk). For more information visit our site www.huisjeaanzee.eu.
