The house
Crouzette is the second largest gite at Le Clos Sainte Marie Gites and is suitable for groups of up to six people.
This charming self catering accommodation has two bedrooms. One has a double bed the other has two singles and a fold out sofa bed. The rooms are large and both bedrooms have balconies overlooking the swimming pool and extensive gardens.
There is a bathroom upstairs and a downstairs toilet.
The decoration of this holiday let is French farmhouse style with lots of exposed stone and traditional French furniture.
Crouzette has a fully fitted kitchen with oven, microwave, hob and fridge freezer, dishwasher and private laundry facilities.
There are also private terraces with outdoor furniture so you can dine al fresco any time you wish.
Our French holiday accommodation has WiFi and flat screen televisions.

We are situated at the base of "La Montagne Noire" and between Castelnaudary and the medieval city of Carcassonne. The estate is located down a tree lined drive and next to a small river the "Lampy". A small forest is accessible for walks, running and hiking next to the estate and you will discover the local vineyards. There are a lot of very well marked walks (or trail runs if you are keen enough) very close by, some at the end of the driveway, others a short drive away. We have books which show the routes. For bike riders, i'm not sure where to start. The various stages of the Tour de France which passes close by most years? The hills of the montage noire and the Pic du Nore? You will need big deep breaths on those by the way. Or the flatter, more gentle countryside rides away from the hills? Its up to you. The other option is a lazy day by the pool with a glass or two of Henri's Rose.

Restaurants, food & wine
The nearby village of Montolieu has several restaurants, as does Bram. Carcassonne has a large choice of different places to eat so does Castelnaudary. There are several places we would recommend which are more off the beaten track. There are several local vineyards nearby and the local wine makers, Henri and his son Julien, often do tastings here or in the village on a Sunday morning. The Sunday morning tastings are an open door affair where locals and holiday makers alike drop by to pick up a couple of bottles for Sunday lunch and the week ahead. Its a nice chance to meet other people on holiday and the people who live here, don't worry if you only have a little bit (or no) French, Henri and Julien speak English and will translate.
