The house
Gîte Lumière is a roomy apartment on the first floor, with a private entrance, terrace and garden area with bbq. Views are across fields and woods.
The first bedroom is a large studio, with a well-equipped kitchenette with cooker, fridge-freezer and microwave. There is also a dining and sitting area.
The studio has a double bed (160cm x 200cm) and a bathroom with bath and shower, washbasin and WC.
The second bedroom has a double bed (180cm x 200cm) and a single bed. The bathroom has a shower, washbasin and WC.
We can provide folding beds or cots for children if required, as well as highchairs.
All guests in our 3 gites can benefit from the large heated swimming pool and the extensive shared grounds. Additionally, there is a large communal room with space to eat or relax. There are books and games including table football and a large communal terrace with barbecue that is available for all guests. A games room with pingpong table, billiards, darts and a variety of outside games and a children's play area are also available. The large Toulousain Grange provides a shady space for people to relax or play games.
There are 3 gites at the Domaine (Gite Ciel, Gite Jardin and Gite Lumière) each with its own private garden and entrance, offering flexibility for large groups.

Surrounded by fields and woods, but only a few minutes from the local town of Saverdun with supermarkets, restaurants and bars, Domaine de Roudeille is a calm and tranquil location where visitors can relax. We have a vast range of plants and trees in the gardens which attract a huge variety of insects, birds, amphibians, reptiles and mammals and we are continuing to expand the biodiversity of the property to attract even more wildlife.

Restaurants, food & wine
There are restaurants to suit every taste in the surrounding towns and villages-ask us for recommendations. Local vineyards in the Ariège are open for visitors, with others such as the Corbieres and Minervois not much further away for those wishing to explore more.
Activities
The area around the Domaine de Roudeille has a great variety of activities on offer. For those enjoying the outdoors, there are opportunities for walking, cycling, swimming, kayaking and many other options. Historical sites such as the castles of Foix, Montsegur and Roquefixade are nearby. The medieval cities of Mirepoix and Carcassonne, together with the Rose City of Toulouse are also great to visit. The Ariege has a number of prehistoric sites and caves, which include some original cave paintings at Niaux. The mountains of the Pyrenees are easily accessible for walkers of all abilities, and there are a number of ski resorts suitable for a day's skiing in winter.
We have enjoyed exploring the area and have many ideas to share with our visitors!
For those relaxing at the Domaine, there is our heated swimming pool (10m x 5m) , table tennis, billiards, and various outside games. For younger children there is a play area and plenty of space to run around!

Further remarks
The mountains of the Pyrenees provide a backdrop to the area, Saverdun is situated at the gateway to Ariège so is easily accessible from Toulouse and Carcassonne airports. A day trip to the beaches of the Mediterranean near Narbonne is another enjoyable option.
