The house
Gite Le Poiron is originally the gardener's house/gatekeeper's house that stands in the garden of our beautiful chateau. The gite was built around 1875 but has been adapted to modern day comfort. On the ground floor you will find the living room with a 3-seater sofa, 2 armchairs and a wood-burning stove, the modern kitchen with built-in fridge-freezer, built-in dishwasher and ceramic hob. There is also a large dining table with 5 chairs. There is also a cosy wood-burning stove. Behind the kitchen there is a lovely private covered terrace in a lockable courtyard. The original oak staircase leads you to the first floor landing. Here are 2 very spacious bedrooms with one room a double bed of 140 x 200 cm and the other room 2 single beds of 90 x 200 cm. Also here you will find the bathroom with spacious shower, sink and toilet. Also here is the washing machine.

Very rural location in the garden of our chateau on a quiet, through road. At about 20 minutes distance are the cities Montmorillon and Le Blanc with all amenities. An hour away are Poitiers and Limoges.

Een mooi ruim en authentiek huis in een bijzonder landelijke omgeving. Voor wie echt rust zoekt.
De eigenaren Johanna en Wim zijn buitengewoon vriendelijk, behulpzaam en kunnen je veel leren over het (boeren)bestaan in FrankrijkRobbin en Renske from Middelburg,
Eigenlijk is het vrij simpel, ons verblijf in Le Poiron was...fantastisch! De omschrijving op de site is precies in lijn met wat je krijgt. Voeg daar de gastvrijheid van Wim, Johanna en de 3 jonge kasteelheren toe en je hebt een super relaxte vakantie. En relaxt was het! Het enige geluid wat je te horen krijgt, is het loeien van de koeien in de nabijgelegen wei. Al met al dus een super fijne week, zeker voor herhaling vatbaar!

Activities
In the immediate vicinity, there are several beautiful hiking trails that are very attractive even for active outdoor people. The surroundings are also very suitable for exploring by bicycle. You can fish in various places in the area. In Le Blanc you will find a small airport that is certainly worth a visit, this is about 20 minutes away from the gite. There is also a swimming lake at about 15 minutes' driving distance, where it is also lovely to stay. At 20 minutes distance there is also an indoor swimming pool with a slide and a lovely outdoor pool.
