Amabilite is surrounded by forest and hiking trails. Extensive hiking trails are available. 10 km away is Montmorillon with all amenities such as supermarkets,restaurants, pharmacy, vet and hospital. Here you will also find the Cite de l'Ecrit historic town with bookshops and writers' museum.
Journet is close to cosy medieval towns such as Chauvigny and Le Blanc with lively weekly markets.
A 20-minute drive away, you will find National Park La Brenne, where you can enjoy walks and bird-watching.
In Poitiers, you can stroll through the cosy historical city centre and do some shopping. A visit to Futuroscope amusement park, 1 hour's drive from Journet.
A large swimming lake 20 minutes away, free access and playground for children. Chauvigny has a velorail and a bird show at the Cite Medievale.
In Civaux there is a crocodile garden, well worth a visit. There is also a large subtropical swimming pool here.
There are many flea markets on Sundays during the season. Vide-Grenier/Brocante (April-October).
