Our holiday address is close to two villages where you can get fresh baguettes and other groceries every day. Villefranche-du-Perigord (about 6 km away) is a small village in the Dordogne. It is a walled, medieval Bastide, with shops and cosy bars and restaurants. In the shady streets you will find all the shops for basic necessities. There is also a tabac selling various newspapers, a post office and an ATM.
The other village is called Sauveterre-la-Lémance (about 5 km away). Sauveterre is smaller than Villefranche, but here too you will find several shops such as a bakery, grocery, pharmacy and a post office. Next to Sauveterre's town hall is also a prehistoric museum. Both villages and the large supermarkets have charging stations for electric cars. Battery charging at the holiday address is not possible as our infrastructure is not (yet) suitable for it.

Restaurants, food & wine
In the vicinity of the holiday address are many good restaurants of different levels . The house book contains a selection of restaurants with which we and also our guests have had good experiences. For wine lovers, there are plenty of addresses where wine can be bought directly. It is also possible to take a guided tour at a local wine chateau in July and August. Afterwards, there is a meal at a very reasonable price in a beautiful spot overlooking the vineyards. We will be happy to make a reservation for you.
The French are known for their Burgundian lifestyle. Especially in Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne. The French people's favourite pastime is "eating"! And that translates into an unrivalled phenomenon: the summer food markets of the French campaign are, in high season, amazing. Fun night markets where you eat your purchases on the spot!
Activities
There are plenty of footpaths in the immediate vicinity and cycling is no problem either. There are marked cycling routes in the valley of the Lot and Dordogne rivers. There are also electric bicycles for rent. The rental company will bring the bikes on site. This area is also known for its many castles and beautiful authentic villages. There are also several golf courses in the immediate vicinity.
Culinary enthusiasts will also enjoy the many good restaurants where they can eat at reasonable prices. In the gite you will find many leaflets on what to do in the area.
The holiday address also offers wellness options such as a relaxation massage or sauna.
