The house
L'Indépendant is a comfortable holiday home on a very quiet riverside estate. A modular gite for 2 - 4 or 5 people where you enjoy a private jacuzzi and a shared swimming pool inside the domain of the small-scale 3-bedroom BB. The gite is completely private with its own entrance & garden area as well as a spacious 50m2 riverside terrace with private jacuzzi. There is a living room with dining table and a separate, fully equipped kitchen. The living room has direct access through window doors to the private terrace from where you can enjoy the river view. Furthermore, there are 2 bedrooms on the ground floor, one double bedroom with a king-size bed and a second bedroom with a "modular sleeping arrangement" , three single beds or a king-size & single. The 2 adjacent bathrooms have been recently renovated and have a large walk-in shower, sink and toilet, plus a separate toilet. One of the bathrooms is specially designed for visitors with reduced mobility.
Each bedroom and lounge area have cooling and/or heating facilities. You will be provided with all bed linen, towels and bath towels as well as a starter kit on arrival.
Outside the gite, there is a large terrace with seating and river views as well as a private garden. There is also an outdoor table and chairs and a barbecue shaded by trees with sun loungers for relaxing. The gite provides a private Jacuzzi and guests can use the shared saltwater pool during the day and there is a covered games area with table tennis and table football, along with a selection of some other outdoor games. Guests are free to stroll around the 18-hectare grounds surrounding the gite and the main house,as well as boating. Free bikes are available and electric bicycles can be hired separately from the local tourist office on reservation.

In the heart of the Lot et Garonne region. The picturesque bastides of Pujols, Tournon d'Agenais, Villereal, Monflanquin and Monpazier are nearby.
The 20-hectare estate is in the heart of the medieval village of Casseneuil, situated on a natural peninsula at the confluence of the Lot, Lède and Sône rivers. This Gallic village name means 'clearing in the oak forest'. The small family estate represents an oasis of calm where you forget the proximity of the village centre.
Only 10minutes from Villeneuve-sur-Lot and also near Bergerac, Cahors and Agen ... medium-sized towns that provide all modern facilities.
The property is fully enclosed, behind the gate with digital code is a private access road leading you to ample private parking in the shade.

In Paris, take the direction of Bordeaux/Toulouse. In Orléans, take the direction of Toulouse. In Brive, take the A89 towards Périgueux/Bergerac. From Périgueux, follow the N21 to Villeneuve-sur Lot. In the GPS, enter "lieu-dit" Colombié Casseneuil.
The Atlantic oceanic climate provides mild temperatures and warm summers with cool nights, making it lovely to stay in the Lot et Garonne. Twee weken geleefd als God in Frankrijk. Ideale vakantie-omgeving, veel rust, alle mogelijke service van uitgebreid ontbijt tot en met baantje trekken in het grote zwembad. Grote kamers waar alles aanwezig is maar waar we nauwelijks zijn geweest. Er is genoeg te zien en te beleven in de prachtige wijde omtrek van Lot et Garonne. Twee weken zijn te kort. Verwennerij is ongekend en gastvrijheid is hier uitgevonden. Kortom; ideaal om Dordogne te leren kennen en hier even tot rust te komen.
Restaurants, food & wine
The region is known for its vineyards and gastronomy. Thus, there are many nice and price-friendly restaurants in the immediate vicinity. In the summer months, the historical villages also organise "marchés gourmands" Cosy evening markets where you can often sit at long tables and feast on the numerous regional specialities such as foie gras, asparagus, truffles, cèpes, spicy cheeses, nuts, the meat tomatoes of Marmande, the prunes of Agen, the apple Tourtières, sweet Garriguettes ....
For wine lovers, in addition to the local wineries of Casseneuil, Duras and Buzet, you can visit the famous wine regions of Bergerac (Pécharmant, Monbazillac and Saussignac) just 35 minutes' drive away. Cahors is also within easy reach as the wine estates already start within about 50 kms. Even bordelais and saint emilion remain very pleasant as day trips.
