Holiday home Pigeonnier
When this tower was build, Napoleon Bonaparte was in power and the right to own a pigeon tower was granted to the bigger farmers. the chalk rock bottom could well use the menure the pigeons provided and birds themselves were on the menu too.
We have rebuild this tower with love and attention so new love birds can take up residence..

Unlike many other towers ours has three floors, the top one is a living room with a television and a sofa to relax on or to watch the news on those rare rainy days. If needed we can convert the sofa into a bed or set up a baby bed so a couple with a toddler can stay here with ease. the window provides a magnificent view over the valley behind.

On the middle floor we created a bedroom and bathroom with rain shower. Romance is key here.

the ground floor is reserved for a cosy but fully equipped kitchen and toilet. Immediately in front of the tower is the terrace. Breakfast outside is easily done. Due to the positioning and the garden you will have enough privacy and feel totally at ease.
The pool is about 40 meters away, a wonderful way to cool down on a hot day.

Our holiday home the Pigeonnier (pigeon tower) is situated at the end of a plateau and surrounded by trees, secluded and peaceful but only 2 km to the bakers in the village of Beauville.
The Quercy Blanc countryside is formed by chalkstone hills and fertile valleys, behind every hill your heart will jump for joy when yet another fantastic sight is revealed. That the rivers the Lot and Garonne are floating through this county is a dead give away, but it is nice to take a little cruise or stroll along the banks.
Fortified white villages with their red tiles are mostly situated on the top of a hill and are well preserved. Penne d'Agenais is a fine example of this and certainly worth a visit. Wether you travel by car, motorbike, bike or on foot to discover this area there are plenty of maps available to guide you.

Waking up after a quiet nights sleep, having breakfast on the terrace and figuring out the plans of the day....visit a town, a village having lunch under an old Plane tree will make everyone happy. A brisk walk to loose some of those calories, climbing a tower or visiting a castle. And back to Loste it is, dipping in the pool and moving back into the shade with a glass of wine. Of course you will not doze off...nooo... but it will allow you to do some thinking.

If this picture suits you, well you can book your holiday here!

Restaurants, food & wine

If there is something you do not need to worry about it is food and drink, wether you love to sit down with the local tradesmen or if you are looking for a michelin star restaurant it is all here. Finding a bad restaurant is an art in itself!

This region produces Cahors wines and there are a number of famous vineyards and the farmers are always welcoming you to taste. You will be suprised at the deals you can make for very good wines.

Every village has it's own weekly fresh market where you can order your favourite meal at the stands of local producers. Sit yourself down at long tables, listening to live bands. Believe me the evening will fly by.

Activities

Holiday home the Pigeonnier is situated in a rural area and provides a fine base from which you can plan your trips. No matter how or what you want. There are many routes available and we are here to show you the best of them. There are golfcourses, lakes to swim in, architectural buildings to visit or even a boat tour will give you a different perspective of the landscape.
Take a look at the fortified villages and castles, enjoy the business on the open markets, antique, brocante, flowers or evening markets with lovely food and live music.

You need more people around you?
No problem, Agen and Villeneuve sur Lot are only 25 Km away for nice shopping!
Even Toulouse and Cahors are only 1 hour away.

For kids there is a Walibi with waterpark in Agen, you can walk through the treetops or explore caves and swim in a lake in nearby Montaigu de Quercy.

You see, we got something for everyone and will gladly share the inside tips!

  • Bicycle
  • Near hiking trails
