The house
L'Hoste is a fantastically furnished 4-star house located in the northern part of the Lot et Garonne bordering the Dordogne. The house has 4 double bedrooms suitable for up to 6 people (including children). Both the house and swimming pool with terrace have been completely modernised and updated. There is a private heated swimming pool. Attached to the pool is a separate gite with living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. The gite is also air-conditioned. There are several terraces, two of which are covered. The house also has a luxury barbecue. From the terraces you have views of the swimming pool and the surrounding area. Next to the house is a plum orchard and you have wide views of hills and sunflower fields (seasonal).
The house has a spacious living room with loft and open kitchen.
On the ground floor you will also find two bedrooms, a spacious bathroom and separate toilet.
Upstairs is a fourth bedroom adjacent to the loft and a modern bathroom. This bedroom also has air conditioning.
There is a carport for two cars and a large parking area.
It is also comfortable in early spring and autumn as there is central heating.

1. The house is NOT equipped with a charging station for your electric car. Charging on the house's power grid is expressly not allowed. The grid is not designed for this. However, there are several charging stations in the area, for example at the larger supermarkets.
2. It is NOT allowed to stay with more than 6 people (including children).

L' Hoste is situated in the northern part of the Lot et Garonne (department 47) bordering the Dordogne. The surroundings consist of a really beautiful hilly area with orchards and fields of sunflowers and corn. From the terrace you have a view of over 20 kilometres. In the surroundings you will find beautiful picturesque bastides (fortified villages), founded in the Middle Ages. Beautiful examples are Pujols, Monflanquin, Penne d'Agenais, Villereal and Monpazier. In the vicinity you will find various castles such as Chateau de Biron, Chateau de Bonaguil and the Chateau de Monbazillac. There is a beautiful undulating golf course at Castelnaud-de-Gratecambe at 4,5 km.
In the village of Cancon you can buy bread and other groceries (4,5 km). In Villeneuve sur Lot (16 km) there are a number of larger supermarkets such as Auchan and Le Clerq. The provincial capital is Agen. The Lot et Garonne has not yet been discovered by tourism. The department has a slightly sunnier climate than the Dordogne and there is less rain.

We hebben genoten van een zeer prettig verblijf in l’Hoste. Het huis was ruim voor ons gezelschap van twee ouders en twee volwassenen kinderen. De inrichting was sfeervol en de afwerking is bovengemiddeld. Alles was piekfijn verzorgd, en zowel het contact met de verhuurder als de beheerders was bijzonder prettig.
De Lot-et-Garonne is voor ons bekend terrein, maar door de fraaie ligging van het huis en de rust van de directe omgeving leek het net alsof we de streek weer herontdekten. We komen graag nog eens terug.

Wij hebben een fantastische vakantie gehad in het charmante huisje L'Hoste. Vanaf het moment dat we aankwamen, voelden we ons meteen thuis. Het huisje zelf was perfect onderhouden en zeer schoon, wat meteen een goede indruk gaf. Alles wat we nodig hadden, was aanwezig, van keukengerei tot comfortabele bedden en zachte handdoeken.
Het verblijf was werkelijk zalig. De rust en stilte rondom het huisje zorgden voor een ontspannen sfeer waarin we volledig tot rust konden komen. De prachtige natuur rondom bood tal van mogelijkheden voor wandelingen en we konden echt genieten van de sereniteit.
Ook het zwembad was een voltreffer. Heerlijk om in te plonzen op warme dagen en een verfrissende duik te nemen. Zowel wijzelf als de kindjes hebben er enorm van genoten. Het zwembad was goed onderhouden en de perfecte plek om de dag door te brengen, omgeven door de rust van de natuur.
De ligging van L'Hoste is ook perfect. Het huisje ligt vlakbij het pittoreske stadje Bergerac en heel wat châteaux, wat ideaal was voor een uistapje en het ontdekken van de lokale cultuur en heerlijke wijntjes. Daarnaast hebben we een dagtocht gemaakt naar het prachtige Bordeaux. Deze combinatie van rust en toegankelijkheid tot nabijgelegen steden maakte ons verblijf extra bijzonder.
Kortom, L'Hoste heeft onze verwachtingen overtroffen. Het was een waar genot om hier te verblijven en we raden het iedereen aan die op zoek is naar een ontspannende, zorgeloze vakantie in een prachtige omgeving. We kunnen niet wachten om nog eens terug te komen!

Perfecte accommodatie. Goed verzorgd, mooie omgeving en een heel mooi zwembad. 2 tips voor de verhuurder. Een in airco in elke slaapkamer zou prettig zijn. En een slaapkamer met twee aparte éénpersoons bedden, zou ook fijn zijn. Nu moesten de kinderen samen in één bed. Super bedankt voor de goede zorgen!
Restaurants, food & wine
Wine is of course part of France. The Lot et Garonne has 4 smaller wine regions and around Cahors is a wine region along the Lot with no less than 52 chateaux. The vignobles of Cahors, like those of Bergerac and Monbazillac, are 30 minutes away by car. At the Chateau de Monbazillac you have a beautiful view over the surroundings of Bergerac.
In the culinary field there are many nice restaurants where you can eat. Some tips:
In Monflanquin: "Le Jardin", an excellent restaurant. Furthermore, "L'Effet 1msidon" and "Le Prince Noir" are good. In Monpazier: "Eleonore", belonging to hotel "Edward I" with Dutch owners and "Bistrot 2" are recommended.
An excellent but very affordable Italian restaurant in Villeneuve sur Lot is "Casa Pietro". This is also recommended. Also "L'ecluse" on the west side of Villeneuve sur Lot, situated along the Lot, is recommended.

Activities
Peace and quiet are the two key words. In our house, you can leave all the hustle and bustle and stress of the Netherlands behind you. There is also plenty to do. It just depends where your interest lies.
Golf, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, canoeing, visiting bastides and castles, visiting castle gardens. But also museums, caves, food markets, art with a capital > the studio and museum of Zadkine and a visit to the wine regions around Cahors and Bergerac are among the possibilities. For the (small) children the "Parc en Ciel" at Lacapele-Biron and "Walibi" at Agen are nice days out.
