The house
Moulin du Repaire is first described in an act of 12-8-1563. It is almost 500 years old! It was part of the "chateau" which is further up the hill. The water mill, the miller's house (now the big house) and the bakery (now the gîte) served to provide the owners and the (then very many) "staff" with their daily bread.
For the benefit of the mill, a dam was built in the valley, creating a reservoir (2 ha). Carp and pike, among others, can be fished here.
The estate totals 14 hectares and is located 4 km from the picturesque village of Saint Leonard de Noblat.
The property is very quiet, but not really remote. A single house can be seen from a distance. The access road of 300 metres is already on private property.
Besides the gîte, it is also possible to rent the big house or even both at the same time.
Once every three years we ourselves have a cosy family reunion at "Moulin du Repaire". Because of the many possibilities on the site and the tranquillity we have a perfect week every time.
But .... for your peace and quiet, there is always only one tenant, unless you also rent the other house, otherwise the other house stays empty or is used by us and/or our friends but your privacy is maintained.

Large living room with huge fireplace.
Kitchen with 5 burner cooker with oven, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, etc.
Hall giving access to two bedrooms, these also open onto the terrace.
Modern bathroom with bathtub, separate shower, washbasin.
Toilet.

1st floor with large loft above the living room, 3 bedrooms, (one with en suite bathroom) sleeping loft, toilet, 2nd bathroom with shower

- TV with a.o. Dutch channels.
- DVD (with many DVDs).

- Spacious terrace of 90 m2, equipped with a spacious veranda and garden furniture.
- Washing machine and dryer, ironing facilities, hairdryer, etc.

- The large, and possibly to be heated, swimming pool with sun terrace.
- A cot and high chair.
- A brazier for cozy evenings outside.
- A barbecue.
- A rowing boat for the lake.
- Petanque court and swing.
- A beautiful forest, (very suitable for building (tree) huts).
- A private river, (very suitable for building a dam).
Or as some guests remarked: Here, a child does not need a toy!

The colourful Limousin.
In the green heart of France (approx. 850 km from Utrecht), you will find the Limousin. The region has many lakes and rivers. Hills up to 800 metres with many beautiful forests invite you for beautiful cycling or hiking tours.
Mass tourism has not yet penetrated here and that makes everything even more beautiful than it already is.
Limoges, at 18 km, is a university city known for its porcelain and enamel, every second Sunday of the month (not in August) there is a large flea market around the cathedral.
But also in many villages and towns in the area are numerous sights, activities and (antique and flea) markets.
The Lac de Vassiviere is about half an hour away and has a museum on it, designed by architect Rossi.
In the vicinity are several golf courses.

De gegeven recensies zijn passend. Een heel mooie locatie met rust, idillysch meer, beek, bos, zwembad en authentieke huisvesting. En goede gastgevers. Wat zou je je nog meer wensen? En die ene gevangen lummel van een karper, hebben we direct weer in het meer teruggezet.

Wat hebben we weer genoten van ons verblijf op jullie domein. Een heerlijk huis op een groot terrein met zelfs een bos en ook een fijn verwarmd zwembad. En Derk en Ineke: jullie zijn een geweldige gastheer en gastvrouw.

Ons verblijf in het grote huis is heel goed bevallen.
We voelden ons meteen thuis, dankzij de comfortabele inrichting en uitrusting van het huis, de rust en de prachtige ligging in het groen.
Hebben ook zeer genoten van de verkenning van het terrein (meer en bos). Wat een prachtig oord!
Gastheer Derk stilde onze nieuwsgierigheid naar de historie van de Moulin heel elegant.
Voor ons draagt zulke kennis absoluut bij aan hoe je kunt genieten van je omgeving.
Maar ook het zwembad met een watertemperatuur van 26 graden Celsius (eind september!) hielp daarbij.
En Derk, dank voor de tip om naar de zondagmorgenmarkt in Panazol te gaan. We kwamen terecht in een echt Franse markt, met aardige mensen en prachtige producten. Heerlijk!
Restaurants, food & wine
There is a good restaurant in the town, and several 'ordinary' ones. Every village in this area, however small, has a restaurant where, on weekdays at noon, you can choose a menu for about 12 euros. Such a menu consists of a starter, main course, cheese, dessert and coffee (wine included). We, Dutchmen, are not used to eat at midi - from 12 o'clock in the afternoon. But there is no Frenchman in the countryside who skips his hot midday meal. Therefore, it is definitely worth trying. Let yourself be surprised and go at one o'clock into a small restaurant and order such a menu. You will be amazed at what you will be served and how cosy it is!
In Saint Léonard there are also two pizzerias and a "kebab". The latter is not to be recommended.
Activities
Our visitors mainly come for the tranquillity, nature, hiking etc.

- There are duvets and pillows.
- Linen is available for rent.
- Firewood for the fireplace is included in the rental price for normal use.
- Electricity etc. is included for normal use, only (oil) central heating can be charged.
- If you want to bring a pet, that is fine with us, but not breeds known as "fighting dogs".
- If we are present, you can use the telephone at cost price.
- There is a free wifi internet connection, but it is rather slow (via satellite).
- Our house is G.S.M. accessible.
