The house
After a thorough renovation, the house (120m² living space) again has a large living kitchen with all necessary appliances such as ceramic hob, dishwasher, oven/microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, blender, electric juicer, coffee maker, all kinds of kitchen utensils and more than enough storage space.
On cooler evenings, you can warm yourself up by the wood-burning stove. In the living kitchen, two armchairs are provided for relaxing. Or would you prefer to sit on a bar stool at the kitchen unit?
Via the living kitchen you enter the TV room where it is nice to relax. In the hallway behind, you will find access to the laundry room, two bedrooms and bathroom. In this laundry room you have access to a washing and drying machine, ironing board and iron. The two bedrooms overlooking the garden each offer a high-quality double box spring 180 cm wide and open wardrobes with plenty of hangers. In the bathroom, located in the former henhouse, you will find a double sink. From the bathtub, you have a view over the terrace and the woods behind. There is also a refreshing rain shower.
By the way, the whole house has electric radiators.
All items in the holiday home are new!
However, we assume that you mainly come for the outdoors.
On the rear terrace there are sunbeds, a terrace table, chairs and a barbecue. You can enjoy the sun all day long and walk straight into the 6500m² garden. Here you will find the fenced, private heated swimming pool (based on salt electrolysis) of 8m x 5m with a depth of 1.4m. During the summer period, you get the delicious cherries and peaches for free.
A covered play area (equipped with a darts set) has been created in one of the gites in case of bad weather.
Aperitifs, barbecue and, of course, petanque, kubben or table tennis can be enjoyed in several cosy places.
Doing nothing is also allowed!

La Maison D(oumaud) is located in the Limousin, just on the border with the better-known Dordogne.
The region in central France is still unknown territory for many of us. We think this is unjustified! The Limousin stands for peace, space, nature, no crowds during the summer months and over your head walking tourists, in short the authentic France.... Located about 800km from Belgium, or 900km from the centre of the Netherlands, this destination is very easy for anyone to reach by car in less than one travel day. The Limousin is known for its beautiful brown cattle and especially for its quiet life. The area is characterised by its many lakes, gently rolling fields and forests. The region is not really touristy, but certainly suitable for walking, cycling and nature lovers!

Wat een geweldige plek!
Voor aankomst hebben we goed en duidelijk contact gehad met de verhuurder met duidelijke instructies over de aankomst.
Het huis is meer dan compleet ingericht en ook volledig voorzien van borden, bestek, keuken apparatuur, etc. Eigenlijk alles wat je je kan bedenken.
De bedden waren netjes en schoon net zoals het gehele huis eigenlijk. En de badkamer… Die was geweldig mooi.
Ook buiten is alles zeer netjes en erg mooi en het zwembad was heerlijk en word goed onderhouden door een bekende van de verhuurder; een erg vriendelijke man.

Een prachtig gerestaureerde gite !!! met tot onze verrassing vlakbij in Cussac ( Intermarché) een goed oplaadstation 100kw voor onze elektrische auto.
Ondanks de regen hebben we toch nog een aantal wandelingen in deze mooie groene omgeving kunnen maken.
En er zijn nog veel andere uitstapjes te maken.

At 500m from the holiday home in La Chapelle-Montbrandeix, Sandrine serves you delicious dishes prepared by her husband. On Friday evenings, you can also enjoy Italian or Asian themed evenings or simply mussels and chips.
From the terrace, you can watch daily life go by.

Hiking
The Limousin is the perfect region for a walking holiday in the French countryside. We make sure that there are hiking routes ready for you in our holiday home that will show you the way to make both short and longer walks in the area and further afield. From your holiday home there are 2 beautiful walks of around 10km each.
Swimming
La Maison D. has a private swimming pool, but there are also many swimming lakes in the area, such as St. Saud, St. Matthieu, Videix, St. Estèphe.... The Limousin is not called 'the land of 1000 lakes' for nothing.
Golfing
Playing golf in the beautiful countryside is pure relaxation! There are many golf courses nearby. For example, you will find a golf course in Saint-Junien, which is half an hour's drive from our holiday home.
Cycling
Cycling in the land of the Tour de France is highly recommended. There is plenty of room to store your bikes under lock and key.
Kayaking
The Limousin is a region with lots of water, many streams and lakes. That is why it is a great opportunity to go kayaking in this region. Half an hour's drive from La Maison D., you can kayak in Brantôme.
Fishing
Would you like to come fishing in the Limousin in France? That too is possible near our holiday home in l'étang de Masselièvre.
You can apply for a day pass to fish at the town hall around the corner.

Further remarks
The holiday home is located in the Parc Naturel Régional Périgord-Limousin. This park is characterised by its more than overwhelming nature. Everywhere you go there are forests, (swimming) lakes and meadows. There is no shortage of hiking trails and peace and quiet. Rest, rest and rest again. Once a few days in the holiday home, you are a different person. You get the feeling of having been here for a long time until you realise that you have taken over the tranquillity. And when the day has passed and when evening comes, you flatter yourself on the terrace to gaze at the starry sky. With a bit of luck, you might see a shooting star or the Milky Way just above your head.
