The house
Freshly painted, tastefully decorated and fully equipped, the Buvette de la Gare is finally ready for you to come and enjoy and splash in the huge pool.
Buvette de la gare, formerly the place where the locals stood at the bar for a snack and a drink, has now been converted into a cosy holiday home for 2-6 people. It is located diagonally opposite the little station on more than 1 hectare of land, where you will also find a roulotte (gypsy caravan) and the other gite La Musette.
Holiday home La Buvette consists of a cosy living room with a fireplace, a cosy dining room with a wood-burning stove and a well-equipped kitchen with doors opening onto the spacious terrace.
On the first floor there are 3 stylish double bedrooms and a bathroom with walk-in shower.
The Buvette has a private terrace and on the grounds is a large swimming pool (12x4m), shared with the 2 other gites.

The Buvette de la Gare'Gare is located in a wonderful, rural, hilly area with many forests and meadows, near the "Monts de Blond" in the Haute Vienne department (Limousin region).
This quiet region of France invites you to be active outdoors.
The former Buvette is located next to the Musette de la Gare (not yet in use this season) on the Domaine de Gare Blond, quietly between the villages of Berneuil and Blond on a dead-end road off the D83, 35 km north of the city of Limoges.

Restaurants, food & wine
Like everywhere else in France, you can eat out superbly in the Haute Vienne. This region is known for its world-famous red-brown limousin cattle and sheep farming.
Which is therefore found in abundance on shop shelves, menus and in the many local markets
There are many restaurants here with a simple menu, very reasonably priced, and some better restaurants, which are a bit more expensive.
But still much cheaper than in the Netherlands or Belgium. If you are interested during your stay in the station, we can give you the necessary addresses on the spot.
You can also cook for yourself, of course. Go out, visit one of the many markets and find the tastiest ingredients.
We ourselves are very fond of some local producers of various organic products, such as fresh vegetables straight from the kitchen garden, honey from the local beekeeper and even the precious saffron, which is produced locally and of very high quality.
Haute Vienne itself is not a wine region, but it is centrally located between the wine regions. To the north are the Loire wines, to the west Bordeaux and to the south the Dordogne.
But that does not mean there is no good affordable wine to be had here - we are in France, after all.
So the supermarkets sell a wide range of wine and in Bellac itself there is a Cave with very good wines at reasonable prices.

Activities
Although almost all of France has its charms, the Haute Vienne (Limousin) is an absolute highlight as far as we are concerned. Unknown to many, but once known, everyone is positively surprised.
Here one can still find salutary peace, coupled with wonderful nature four seasons long.
There is a lot to do and enjoy with the family in Limousin. There are several amusement parks, zoos, a monkey valley, a tree climbing park, vélorail, steam train, etc. And of course plenty of (flea) markets.
And of course plenty of flea markets and flea markets, culinary fairs, fairs and music festivals.
The Haute Vienne is the place to go to explore nature. Here you can still enjoy the silence of walking, cycling, horse riding (or motorcycling) on the many picturesque little D-roads and paths.
But also sailing, canoeing and other water sports on e.g. Lac St. Pardoux or Lac Vassivière. Or go fishing, not to mention play golf.
In the vicinity of the house are a number of beautiful golf courses, such as that of Mortemart.
Besides the many sporting challenges, there are plenty of other things to do and see. The ancient history of the Haute Vienne is literally there for the taking.
From the Stone Age (dolmen, dolmens), Roman rule (baths), to the Middle Ages (castles, including some of King Richard the Lionheart) to the near past (Oradour sur Glane) and the present.
You will also find a wide range of museums, from the world-famous Limousin porcelain in Limoges to the old village school in the quaint village of Montrol Senard. Which is said to house 19 museums, including the toy museum. Tom, an eccentric Dutchman is the proud owner.
For the more active holidaymaker, we offer all kinds of tailor-made sporting packages (cycling, hiking , motorcycling). You can then devote yourself entirely to your pursuits and we will take care of the daily worries.

Rental of Buvette de la Gare is only possible for a minimum of 7 days, but especially in the early and late season this may be deviated from.
