The house
Welcome to our traditional Périgourdine cottage in the heart of the Périgord Noir.
"Gîte Le Perroudier" is located in the Périgord-Noir, the south-east of the Dordogne with the rivers Dordogne and Vézère, overwhelming valleys, its prehistory, caves, bastides and 1001 castles and ruins.
The attractive house was rebuilt and restored in 2021 while retaining old elements.
You can relax in the large garden with several seating areas, a BBQ, hammock, swings and a vegetable garden from which you are allowed to pick without restriction. From the garden you have a beautiful view of Montfort Castle. There is plenty of parking space on site. The lockable garage has space to store bikes, golf bags, roof boxes, etc.
You can swim, canoe and fish in the nearby Dordogne River, one of the cleanest rivers in France, just 2 km from the house. There is a sandy beach in Goudon and a pebble beach in Vitrac.
On the ground floor, everything is on one level.
New kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, induction hob, fridge/freezer and oven, breakfast table.
Behind the kitchen a nice bedroom for 2 persons (bed 160x200cm) with ensuite bathroom with sink and spacious shower.
Entrance with coat rack and toilet.

1 bedroom for 2 persons (bed 140x200cm) equipped with private washbasin.
1 bedroom for 2 persons (1 x bed 90x200cm and 1 x bed 140x200cm) with washbasin.

A short drive away : Sarlat, Domme, Beynac, La Roque-Gageac, Castelnaud-la-Chapelle.

The Périgord Noir is one of the most beautiful regions of France ánd the weather is almost always nice. You will find an abundance of beautiful castles, gorgeous nature, markets, refreshing rivers and (medieval) villages. Not for nothing do so many holidaymakers know how to find this French department.
The name Dordogne is not only the name of the department, but also the river that flows here.
We are in the lucky position that our house is only 2 km from the only river in France whose entire course has been qualified by UNESCO as a natural world heritage site. This river is a breath of fresh air in the summer months. Because say honestly, what could be better than a refreshing dip in natural water? Forget pools full of chlorine and swim in the naturally clear waters of the Dordogne, one of the cleanest rivers in France!
And be sure to spend a day canoeing on the Dordogne too. There are so many great little beaches and places to moor. The views along the way are phenomenal. You pass the most beautiful villages and castles of the Dordogne. There is little more fun than a day canoeing in this beautiful area.
The house is only 500mtr from the small village of Montfort with its magnificent castle. You can walk there to get your fresh baguettes and croissants in the morning. (Temporarily closed). This picturesque village also has a restaurant with a cosy terrace where you can dine in the evening within walking distance.

Heerlijke vakantie gehad. Alles was perfect. Het huis is heel compleet en smaakvol ingericht. De ligging is ideaal en alles is op korte rijafstand. Er is veel te doen en te bezoeken. ’s Avonds lekker luieren en genieten met een glas wijn en de BBQ in de grote tuin. Hartelijk dank voor de gastvrijheid en de uitleg over de regio. Jullie hebben heel goed begrepen hoe jullie iemand de perfecte vakantie kunnen bezorgen. We komen zeker terug !

Our stay was amazing. The house is extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean and has everything you need and all works perfectly. The view from the garden is incredible. The local restaurant is a 5 min. walk and many great restaurants within only 10 minutes’ drive. So much to do in the area. The gite has everything you need. We really enjoyed this special place. Lovely hosts that were helpful and responsive. Highly recommended!

L’emplacement est idéal car central pour découvrir tous les incontournables de la région (Lascaux, Padirac, Proumeyssac, Roque Saint Christophe, La Roque Gageac, Cahors, l’aquarium du Périgord, Marqueyssac, Milandes, Castelnaud, Domme, etc…).
Plusieurs excellents restaurants à moins de 5 km.
Les propriétaires sont charmants et très accueillants.
A mon avis, impossible de trouver mieux pour découvrir le Périgord Noir.

Activities
For young and old, there is a lot to do in the Périgord noir at short driving distances from the house.
Only 2 km from the Dordogne River where you can take a refreshing dip in clear and clean natural water. The river is one of the cleanest rivers in France!
Be sure to spend a day canoeing on the Dordogne as there are many nice beaches and places to moor and the views along the way are phenomenal. You will pass the most beautiful villages and castles of the Dordogne.
Sarlat-la-Canéda, 5km away, is a very popular tourist attraction. This old, medieval town lends itself to strolling and overflows with picturesque alleys and Gothic or Renaissance mansions, such as the Plamon mansion, the Maganath mansion or the De Vassal mansion.
The Saturday market (4th most beautiful market in France 2021) is not to be missed! If you do miss it, be sure to visit the cosy, typically French market in Saint Cyprien on Sunday mornings.
Just 7km away is the fortified town of Domme. Domme is an old town, on top of a mountain and is one of "Les Plus Beaux Villages de France".
Castelnaud-la-Chapelle 8km - La Roque Gageac 8km - Beynac 13km.

Prices for bed linen and towels are per person. Final cleaning you can do yourself, or leave it to us for € 80.00.
Please book at least 2 days before arrival, otherwise by arrangement.
Changeover day in high season is Saturday and a minimum of 7 nights.
Out of season, arrival on Sunday is also possible with a minimum of 4 nights. Please contact us.
Our rates include unlimited Wifi, water and electricity.
We do not ask for a deposit as we find that much too formal. If something accidentally breaks, just let us know in time so we can replace or repair it for the next guests.
