The house
The studio, located on the first floor of the manor house, has its own entrance via an external staircase.
This self-contained, cosy accommodation offers complete privacy and is ideal for 1 or 2 adults.
The studio has a double bed with a sitting/dining area. There is a kitchenette with fridge, gas comfort and oven. The two south-facing skylights provide plenty of light.
The studio has a private bathroom with shower and toilet.
There is fast WiFi internet available via a satellite connection and also a TV.
There is electric heating.
Next to the entrance is a picnic table for breakfast and lunch. You can also use a BBQ here.
A washing machine and dryer are available for a small fee.
Of course, the estate with its lake, woods and chestnut grove is at your disposal. There is much to discover in every season. The studio is a perfect place for nature lovers and as a base for exploring nature and the historical sites and cosy markets in the area.
The minimum rental period for the studio is one week, from Saturday to Saturday.

The 11-hectare estate ¨La Chataigneraie¨, is located in the Parc Naturel Regional Perigord Limousin near Jumilhac le Grand and the hamlet of Bourdoux. Characteristic are the 5000 m2 lake and the old sweet chestnut trees that have given the estate its name.
The majestic chestnut trees blossom beautifully in spring and provide an abundant harvest of super tasty sweet chestnuts in autumn. The land is very varied with old trees, a bamboo forest, grasslands full of flowers. a young fruit orchard and fields of blackberries and eagle ferns. In autumn, there is an abundance of mushrooms, including edible ones such as cep. We do strongly recommend getting mushrooms checked if you want to eat them (you can do so at any ´pharmacy´).
The lake gets water not only from the rain, but also from a natural spring. There is an intimate, enclosed sandy beach with loungers and a parasol for hot days.... We have provided a jetty where you will find a rowing boat and a canoe, which can be freely used by our guests! It is a natural swimming water (without chemicals), where you can also fish.
There is a picnic table by the beach and a playing field for badminton or volleyball.
In the lake there is a small island accessible via a bridge and in the forest there are several hiking trails. You can walk your dog or take a stroll to get some fresh air. Listen to the golden oriole and, at dusk, the call of a tawny owl marking its territory.
