The house
Maison le Lièvre consists of a living/bedroom where you will find a comfortable double bed (140 x 200 cm) and a large, original stone fireplace with wood-burning stove, where you can sit out the chilly evenings. The sitting area has a DVD player with plenty of films and a Tv with French channels.
There is a bathroom with a shower cabin, with a high step (see photo), a toilet and a sink.
There is a spacious, fully equipped, dining kitchen with a fridge-freezer, a 4-ring hob, an electric oven and a coffee machine. If you want to wash clothes,,we offer the use of our washing machine in this case.
The gîte is entirely on the ground floor.
You can park your car on your private driveway.
Directly in front of the entrance to the gîte is an enclosed terrace, of gravel, facing west, with a terrace seat where you can enjoy dining in the evening.
You can use the garden chairs and loungers when you want to relax and enjoy the sun on the sunbathing lawn.

The picturesque village of Saint Front sur Nizonne, with its beautiful church, is 4 km away.
At about 10 minutes drive you reach Nontron (7 km.) where you can find the bakery, do your daily shopping and visit the local market on Saturday morning.

Groen, stilte en zeer schone gite.

Bij toeval ontdekten we deze gite toen we op internet zochten op omgeving Nontron. Wat een geweldige vondst! Mooi authentiek huisje met prima stevig bed, open haard, luie stoelen, antieke kast in de grote kamer. Zeer sfeervol en koel door de oude stenen, heerlijk met de hitte. De keuken is van alle gemakken voorzien, ook basisingredienten om te koken zijn er. Alles zeer netjes en schoon. Buiten het gezellige privé terras mochten we van de prachtige tuin gebruik maken waar ook voldoende privacy is. Kees en Gerda zijn erg gastvrije hosts, die goeie tips over de omgeving geven, maar zich verder op de achtergrond houden. De omgeving is niet toeristisch maar zeker de moeite waard te verkennen.

This region is known for its foie gras, canard, chestnuts, truffles, nuts and its delicious cheeses and wines.
Activities
Our two-person gîte is situated in the Perigord Vert, the green part of the Dordogne, and in the regional nature park Périgord-Limousin. This area is, par excellence, a beautiful walking area and on many village squares start several marked walking routes; in the cottage you will find plenty of routes and maps of these.
Furthermore, there are excellent opportunities for activities such as canoeing, horseback riding, golf, rock climbing, cycling and swimming. You can also take a ULM flight and view the area from the air.
A 20-minute drive away is the bathing lake at Saint-Estèphe, with a supervised sandy beach, a good restaurant and a snack bar where you can order chips. Here it is quiet and almost old-fashioned bathing.
