The house
"La petite maison" is a pretty perigourdine cottage, situated just a few minutes walk from the centre of the village of Rouffignac St Cernin de Reilhac, in the heart of the Périgord Noir, less than an hour drive from Bergerac or Brive airports. In the village, you will find a local bakery, butcher, grocery store, traditional sunday market, supermarket, restaurants and cafés.
It has all the modern conveniences whilst having all the charm and character of a cottage.
Tastefully decorated, the property is fully equiped with everything you will need for a relaxing holiday summer or winter as it has been fully insulated.

The Vezere valley is famous for its many prehistoric sites like the Lascaux caves just 20mins from Rouffignac. The beautiful village " Les Eyzies", where "l'homme de Cro-Magon" was discovered , is ideal for family outings and only 15mins away. You can visit the national museum of prehistory, explore the cave " Font de Gaume" and canoe along this stunning Vezere river taking in all of its natural beauty.
The town of Sarlat is undoubtedly one of the places to visit while holidaying in Périgord. It is an ancient medieval town beautifully preserved. It is a bustling town with its saturday market, guided tours,festivals and many restaurants and cafés.
In winter, three flagship events are held, the Christmas market, the feast of truffles in January and celebration of the goose in February.
The Périgord is also famous for its gastronomy. The two most popular in the Périgourdine cuisine are Foie gras and truffles but cèpes mushrooms and of course walnut and duck are on every restaurant menu.
