The house
Built in the 15th-16th centuries, the gite Côté Jardin is located in the friendly village of Cubjac on the river Auvézère
with its sandy beach, in the Périgord Blanc in the Dordogne.
The gîte Côté Jardin is located in the courtyard and opposite the outbuilding and adjoins the large courtyard
with by extension the unique,garden with its centuries-old trees,
The original country kitchen with its beautiful stone (pisée) floor and huge fireplace (cantou),
has a 4-burner cooker with oven, extractor, microwave, coffee machine, other kitchen utensils and crockery.
The kitchen has a large double door to the courtyard.
Next to the kitchen, you will find the spacious dining room with its original wooden floor, equipped with a large dining table and chairs and French windows to the garden.
Next to the dining room, you will find the large living room, which could be considered a second bedroom with 2 large beds,
one for 2 persons and the other for 1 person.
There is also a sitting area consisting of a sofa with 2 armchairs and a round writing table with 2 chairs.
The lounge has 2 large French windows opening onto the beautiful courtyard and garden.
The staircase in the kitchen leads to a spacious landing where you will find the bedroom with a double bed, a table and 2 chairs, half a wardrobe.
Right next to the bedroom is the spacious bathroom, which has a shower, washbasin, bidet,
toilet and a single bed decorated as a sofa bed.
This house is very tastefully and authentically decorated and accommodates 2 to 4 people.
The house also has outdoor tables and chairs and deck chairs.
The beautiful and very spacious garden with its centuries-old trees, has various seating areas with dining tables, chairs
and loungers and offers you the opportunity to prepare your meals on the barbecue
or simply relax with your book and a glass of wine.
The large and beautiful garden is spacious and furnished in such a way that everyone can find a spacious place with outdoor equipment such as tables, chairs and deck chairs.
This unique outdoor area is shared with the guests of the other 3 gîtes on the estate.

The Dordogne is known for its culinary delights where Foie Gras, Cêpe and Truffe wave the cepter and the wine from Bergerac also deserves its fame.
The village of Cubjac is located on the river Auvézère in the Périgord Blanc of the so-famous Dordogne.
The various attractions such as caves, castles and museums are not too far from Cubjac, such as the caves of Lascaux( UNESCO),
just outside Montignac at half an hour by car.
The caves of Tourtoirac are 10 minutes' drive from Cubjac and well worth a visit.
The village itself has a bakery, a bar where you can buy your newspaper, a post office.
On Friday mornings there is a market where you can buy local products from the region.
The various footpaths in this wooded area show you the most beautiful and peaceful spots in the Périgord Blanc.
You can also undertake various activities in the vicinity such as canoeing, horse riding, quad biking, running, ballooning and even hang-gliding.

We hebben het heerlijk gehad in Gerda's Le Nid des Oiseaux - Le Marronnier. Mooie, rustige, schone plek en van alle gemakken voorzien. Grote, mooie tuin waar altijd wel een schaduwplek te vinden is. Het was erg heet in deze week, maar het is lekker koel in het huis. De locatie is perfect en we hebben de mooiste dorpjes en andere plekken gezien, allemaal in een straal van zo'n 90 minuten rijden. Het dorpje zelf heeft een bakker en een tabac en boodschappen kunnen gedaan worden in Thenon. Gerda is een geweldige gastvrouw en ook al waren we er relatief kort, we hebben er van genoten.

Wij hebben bijzonder genoten van ons verblijf in de eeuwenoude en sfeervolle gite "La Poste", mede door de ontvangst en de gastvrijheid van de zeer vriendelijke gastvrouw Gerda! Door het behoud van authentieke details (zoals muren, deuren en vloeren) en de smaakvolle inrichting lijkt het of je in een oud kasteel verblijft.
Het vakantiehuis is voorzien van alle comfort, biedt optimale privacy en heeft een prachtige groene tuin met zon en schaduwplekken. De bakker zit om de hoek, dus iedere ochtend (behalve maandag) heerlijk vers Frans brood bij het ontbijt. Voor de dagelijkse boodschappen per auto naar supermarkten in de omgeving.
Rustig dorpje, maar er is genoeg te doen in de omgeving. Laatste dag nog genoten van heel gezellige barbecue in de tuin met de andere Nederlandse en Franse gasten en Gerda. Komen heel graag weer terug!!!Marcel Vermeer from Zoeterwoude,
Het was in een woord fantastisch.een helemaal ingericht in de Franse stijl van toen net of je terug in de tijd gaat . de tuin is ook prachtig met overal zitplekken in of uit de zon . We werden hartelijk ontvangen door gerda de eigenaresse van dit verborgen pareltje een heerlijke gastvrije vrouw die ook van gezelligheid houd . Kortom n absolute aanrader als je naar de dordogne wild ik zeg doen

and where you can also sit down at the table to taste these dishes.
In the surrounding villages you will find all kinds of restaurants where you can choose from the famous specialities of the Dordogne,
but where you can also enjoy haute cuisine française.

Dordogne is the land of culture, nature and history with its 1001 castles, its medieval towns, its world-famous caves, charming villages, its summer festivals, museums and numerous sights... in short, plenty to do culturally.
The landscape is gently rolling with rivers, streams and cascades meandering through it.
In the immediate vicinity of the house, you can cycle and hike to your heart's content, as well as fish
and canoeing in the river and playing tennis in a village nearby.
Horse riding and golf at 20min.
If you do not feel like being active, you can relax in a deck chair in the intimacy of the walled garden in the shade of centuries-old trees.
