The house
This spacious and comfortable newly built house with charming views over the Dordogne valley and a 700 m² garden has 2 bedrooms on the ground floor and 1 bedroom upstairs.
The spacious kitchen is fully equipped: hot-air oven, halogen hob, grill, microwave and Senseo coffee machine
The living room has a television with Dutch channels, a CD and DVD player. French doors open onto the (partly) covered terrace of 33 m².
The bathroom has a washbasin and walk-in shower and there is a separate hanging toilet.
For children, there is a high chair, bed and cutlery, as well as toys for the garden.
The house is quietly located next to a castle with a walnut orchard.

The village of Cazoulès is on the border of the Dordogne and the Lot, a perfect starting point for day trips in the region. Fresh bread is available in the village or at the campsite by the river (5 minutes from the house).
The larger town of Souillac (with Leclerc supermarket) is just a 10-minute drive from Cazoulès. You can take trips to Sarlat (20 minutes' drive), Rocamadour and the Dordogne valley (with castles such as Beynac and Les Milandes, Joséphine Baker's residence).

We hebben hier een heerlijke zomervakantie gehad met ons gezin (2 tieners en 1 kind). Het huisje is ruim, gezellig, schoon en goed ingericht. Er is aan van alles gedacht voor een comfortabele vakantie (voldoende opbergruimte, wasrekken, WiFi, jeu de boules, kinderschommel etc). Veranda was ook erg fijn om onder te eten. Op erg warme dagen was het binnen heel goed koel te houden met de luiken dicht en met de rivier (met strandje) op loopafstand ben je ook zo afgekoeld. Alle 'must sees' in de Dordogne (Sarlat, Martel, Pré Histo parken, grotten en kastelen, fijne restaurantjes) zijn binnen 20-30 minuten aan te rijden. We hebben nog nooit zo centraal gezeten in de Dordogne. Na ieder uitstapje was het altijd erg fijn 'thuiskomen' en vanuit de tuin de prachtige sterrenhemel bewonderen. De ligging, de ruimte en de voorzieningen zijn grote pluspunten van dit huisje. Eén tip: de hoofdkussens zijn vrij plat en de matrassen stevig. Kinderen hadden er geen last van, wij wel. Als je daar niet van houdt, neem dan eigen hoofdkussens mee of haal ze even in de supermarkt in het dorpje.

Heel fijn goed gelegen huis, fijne ruimten en een heerlijk overdekt terras. Aan de rand van een gehuchtje, en 100% privacy. Op 5 minuten van de Dordogne en 10 minuten van een grote supermarkt. Prachtige mogelijkheden om te wandelen.

Het is een fantastisch huis met veel ruimte en rust en van alle gemakken voorzien.
Het ligt in een prachtige groene omgeving. Een mooi wandelgebied rondom de Dordogne.
Gunstige ligging t.o.z.van de omliggende steden.
We hebben daar meermalen een fijne vakantie doorgebracht.

Restaurants, food & wine
Souillac has a covered market with produce from local farmers. Of course, Sarlat's market is highly recommended.
In the immediate vicinity of "La Fon Haute" you will find an abundance of gastronomic restaurants where you can enjoy lunch or dinner on the terrace or the night markets where you can taste local specialities.
Both the Bergerac and Cahors wines are worth discovering and we recommend a trip to these wonderful wine regions.
Activities
The Dordogne River is only 5 minutes walk from the house, where you can swim (beautiful pebble beach, see photo above) and canoe.
You can make beautiful bike rides on the bike path that runs through Cazoulès (from Sarlat to Souillac). In Souillac there is a large water park, ideal for children.
There is much to see in the area: Medieval places like Rocamadour, Sarlat, Domme etc. but also castles and caves.

Further remarks
In the village of Cazoulès there is a charging station for charging the electric car. Most larger supermarkets also have this facility and we ask that you do not use the holiday home's electricity for this purpose.
