The house
The chalet has a living area of more than 50m² with a spacious living room, an open-plan kitchen with all mod cons, a bathroom with shower and sink, a separate toilet and 1 bedroom on the ground floor. The second bedroom is on the mezzanine. The mattresses of the beds are of excellent quality and bed linen is included. There is a large terrace (15m²) with garden table and chairs.

The chalet is in a varied forest, with plenty of wildlife, at the foot of a hill with the imposing Biron castle and old village.
The Dordogne hardly needs any further recommendation: medieval fortified towns, 1001 castles, prehistoric caves, wide river valleys and vineyards - almost too much to visit all at once. Not to mention the beautiful countryside with rivers, forests, fields and sleepy, old villages.

Restaurants, food & wine
The south-west of France is known for its " savoir vivre " when it comes to food and drink. The wine regions of Duras, Bergerac, Thézac and Cahors are all around and the owners can provide a personal guide to the various " châteaux ". There are also too many restaurants to mention, reasonably priced and often with excellent menus.
Activities
The region offers numerous opportunities for sports enthusiasts: caving, ultralight flights, hiking, horse riding and cycling, tennis, golf, climbing, canoeing, etc. etc At the park itself there is a swimming pool (heated) with sun beds, a badminton court, table tennis and table football. In summer, yoga/pilate and fitness sessions are offered.
For non-sports enthusiasts, there are museums, local markets, village festivals, gardens and castles or beaches along the river that invite sunbathing.

Further remarks
Castelwood is an estate with 15 chalets. The owners of Castelwood have a long career behind them, having previously owned, among other things, a 4-star campsite. They moved to the region 30 years ago and are happy to tell you about the hidden gems in an area they know inside out.
Their preference is for peace, nature and beauty and so their holiday park is aimed at people who want to determine the rhythm of their holidays themselves.
