The house
In the heart of France lies the land of the Creuse. The green heart where peace and quiet still abound. Here you can wander for hours through the woods and meadows and enjoy the sound of the babbling of the Petite Creuse.
In this beautiful green space, just outside the village of Bétête, you will find this small but lovely gîte for 2 people equipped with all modern conveniences. The entrance is at the back as is your terrace so you have enough privacy to enjoy your holiday. There is also a boules court in the garden, where you can make the game your own.
Nearby are many places of interest, markets and restaurants where you can enjoy the pleasures of the Creuse.

The gite is in a beautiful walking area with hiking trails, you hardly meet any people on your walks here. There are many animals such as partridges, buzzards, deer, cranes (spring and autumn).
A pet is welcome here, this of course in consultation and the pet must get along well with cats and another dog (Beagle).
You have your own entrance at the back of the gite overlooking the back garden and petanque court. The gite has a lounge set where you can enjoy the sun, a parasol and a small outdoor dining table with louvre chairs.
The nearest village (1.3 km) is Bétête with a small grocery shop, (mornings) post office where you can also buy and order bread for the next day
Boussac is 10 km away where you can find everything such as restaurants/bars, garage, tourist office, bakers, hairdresser etc. A very nice market on Thursdays!
La Chatre (30 km) has a Saturday morning market with local produce.
The supermarket in Boussac is open until noon on Sunday mornings.

Heerlijke week gehad in Maison du Bonheur! Genoten van de mooie, sfeervolle en goed uitgeruste gîte, de prachtige tuin en de geweldige omgeving, waar we heerlijk hebben gewandeld. Dank daarbij aan Caroline voor de vriendelijke ontvangst en haar attente betrokkenheid. Wij komen zeker nog een keer terug!

Wat een geweldige plek!
Bij aankomst bij Maison du Bonheur werden we hartelijk welkom geheten door Caroline. De gite is erg sfeervol ingericht en ontbreekt aan niets. In de tuin heb je verschillende zitjes waar je heerlijk en in alle rust en privacy kan ontspannen. Caroline heeft er alles aan gedaan om het zo gezellig mogelijk te maken.Caroline staat altijd klaar voor advies of een gezellig praatje. Fantastisch verblijf gehad! De gîte ligt prachtig. Je bent er één met de natuur. Was het nog wat te fris buiten? Dan stookten we de houtkachel op; het was dan volop genieten in de sfeervolle woning. De gîte is volledig en comfortabel ingericht. Doe daarbij de vriendelijke ontvangst van Caroline die (altijd) klaarstond als we vragen hadden… Zodra wij kunnen, gaan we terug naar Maison du bonheur in het prachtige Bétète!

Restaurants, food & wine
Everywhere near your holiday home you will find nice restaurants where you can get a complete 4-course menu with the locals at lunchtime for up to 15/23 euros including coffee, water and wine.
Recommended are: Le Chalet des Pierres Jaumatres, Cafe La Place in Boussac (cosy and informal), Hotel Central (slightly more expensive in price range but fantastic!)

The arrival time is on Saturday after 3pm and the departure day is on Saturday 11am.
Prices do not include electricity and heating and bed and bath linen.
I have a dog, (Beagle) who likes to meet new people and two cats that roam freely in the gardens.
Accepting bookings with dogs is at your discretion. Please ask before booking. Unfortunately, I cannot accept any other pet type due to the nature of my dog and cats. Thank you for your understanding in this matter
