Maison 1888 is an authentic atmospheric detached gîte located in the small village of St Merd de Lapleau in Correze, France. Maison 1888 is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday amidst a natural environment. The gîte can accommodate up to 4 people. The living room, bathroom and toilet are on the ground floor, on the mezzanine floor is the kitchen diner with lovely wood stove and on the 1st floor you will find 2 double bedrooms each with a double bed (180x200 which can also be separated into 2 single beds and 160x200) and an extra toilet. All floors are separated by a number of steps, making the rooms on staggered levels. The ground floor and the mezzanine have central heating.
The gîte is fully furnished, including linen, a well-stocked bookcase, board games, a Smart TV and DVD player with a choice of over 400 films and wifi.
The kitchen is also fully equipped including a fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, small dishwasher, a Nespresso and Dolce Gusto machine, kettle and a cupboard full of crockery, oven dishes and other cooking and baking utensils. Should you be in need of inspiration, there is bound to be a delicious recipe in one of the hundreds of cookbooks.

The gîte offers a comfortable stay in quiet surroundings, on the outskirts of the small village of Saint Merd de Lapleau.
With an enclosed garden of about 1800 m2, the house is also definitely suitable for your faithful four-legged friend. Parking is available at the house and across the street. The neighbouring village of Marcillac de Croisille has a bakery, several restaurants, a pharmacy and a small grocery shop.

Activities
The surroundings of St Merd de Lapleau offer numerous opportunities for nature walks and relaxation.
Discover the beautiful lake of Marcillac-la-Croisille where you can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, picnics, water sports or just have a drink and a bite to eat at the beach café. The Dordogne and its viewpoints are also worth visiting, as are the towns and villages along the Dordogne such as Argentat and Bort les Orgues.
Explore the Château de Sédières with its estate through which beautiful hiking and mountain bike trails run, go shopping in Brive or stroll through the streets of Collonges-la-Rouge. Egletons is essential for shopping, here there are 3 large supermarkets, pizzerias, restaurants, bakeries and much more.
For the adventurous youth and adults, 40 minutes away is the wonderful climbing park Diege Avontures Dordogne, with footbridges and zip lines. And for these same adventurers, the Grottes des Maquisards can be visited. (These caves are not suitable for children!)
