The house
This holiday home dates from the early 1800s and has a very large living room of 55 m2. It has been decorated in a 'rugged country' style with a mix of new furniture and antiques, and regularly new objects find their way into the house from 'brocantes' flea markets. A balanced and tranquil atmosphere is something we want to create in our house. In the living room are two comfortable three-seater sofas and an authentic and rugged oak coffee table. The 3.2m long antique dining table is long enough to seat 8 people for a cosy long dinner, of course with comfortable dining chairs.
The fireplace ('cantou') has a heavy duty wood burner stove ( Jotul) which can warm up the room on cooler nights.
The kitchen (11m2) is right next to the living room and has all amenities such as a fridge/freezer combination, 5 burner cooker and large oven, microwave, coffee maker etc. Here we have also chosen for a contemporary /country style decor of oak in combination with black and stainless steel.
The utility room has a new wc with natural stone exposed walls. Through an old oak door you enter the bathroom which has been newly built but with respect for style of the house. Next to the washbasin is a spacious walk in shower with thermostat tap. Here are also a washing machine and dryer, but hidden for the eye.
The upper floor has three bedrooms, two with double beds of 160x200 cm and one with two single beds. The upper floor has plenty of authentic details, the complete century old roof construction has been exposed so you can see the old craftsmanship and even marks from the builders. Still the atmosphere is light, spacious and fresh.

Reviews
Mieke from Voerendaal,
Absolute aanrader!!Anja Roosen from Zoetermeer,
