The house
Open plan lounge and dining area within a converted Charentaise barn, with French bespoke kitchen and downstairs bathroom with shower and WC. Wooden staircase leads to 3 large bedrooms overlooking the gardens and surrounding countryside. Downstairs floors have Italian tiles throughout and the upstairs are wood floors with open face walls and oak ceiling beams. Barn doors lead onto a private patio area with table and chairs and BBQ with garden access to pétanque, various garden games and large pear shaped heated swimming pool which is shared between 3 gites. The gite has both French and English television as well as a DVD player.
Hammocks are also dotted around for chilling.
Bicycles are available to rent from local company.
Souris can also be interconnected with Fauvette internally for larger parties of guests if required.

In a small hamlet surrounded by cognac vineyards and sunflower fields. Mouthier sur Boeme is 4kms away which has a bakers, butchers and small supermarket. Lots of local markets within an hours drive daily. 20 mins from Angouleme, beautiful town and Cognac historical town is 40 mins away. Also 2 vineyards close by which do tours and sell their cognac and wine.

Very nice and clean gite, with everything there you could think about that you need during your stay.
Going from towels, lots of dishes, cups, cooking pots, over dishwasher and washing machine, BBQ to board games.
Outside there is the big and warm swimming pool which is maintained daily by Steve, petanque, pingpong and the Gym.
So one could just stay in and around the gite all day. It is nice and calm in the middle of nowhere between the sunflowers, but at the other hand some smaller villages and cities are available on acceptable distance where shopping, visits, canoe and climbing in the trees are possible.

Très beau gîte, propre, fonctionnel et spacieux.
Emplacement au calme, face aux champs de tournesol.
Beaucoup d'équipements, le paradis pour les enfants. La piscine chauffée et la salle de sports / salle de jeux sont un vrai plus.
Enfin, Steve et Catherine sont aux petits soins et très sympathiques.

La Lavette in local Villebois Lafayette is good and Angouleme has plenty of varied eateries which is 20 mins away. There also restaurants in Barbezieux
