The house
Gite des Roses is situated in the grounds of Gites des Fleurs. It is suitable for 6 guests. Upstairs there is a double bedroom overlooking the gardens & the village, there is also a twin bedded room & the shower room on the first floor. The shower room consists of a large walk in shower, toilet & vanity washbasin.
On the ground floor there is another toilet & washbasin and an open plan lounge/dining/kitchen. the lounge has a large double sofa bed & an arm chair, flat screen tv, with French & English channels, also a DVD player and a selection of DVD's & books are provided. The dining area has a table & 6 chairs. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, extractor fan, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster & kettle. All pots, pans, oven dishes, crockery, cutlery & utensils are provided, to make your self catering holiday run smoothly. A travel cot is provided & high chair. (please bring your own cot bedding). Bedding & towels are provided for all other beds.
Private enclosed terrace with alfresco dining table & 6 chairs, parasol, BBQ, & sunbeds. other communal gardens to use also. Private allocated parking (2 spaces), in the parking area.

Oradour Fanais is a tranquil village nestled within the Charente countryside. Lovely sunflower fields surround the village, with country lanes to walk or cycle along. Amenities are to hand with a bar/grocery store with fuel in the centre of the village. Charcuterie platters are recommended here along with a nice glass of the local wine. You will hear the odd tractor going along the village streets, and the birds singing. Oradour Fanais is our happy place.
Periodically the bar hosts live music events usually accompanied by a food van - burger/fish& chips/pizza! where you can eat, sing, dance along for a couple of hours.

The village bar, has drinks & offers food. They also have a grocery store. Hop in the car and the next neighbouring towns have plenty of international cuisine to choose from.
Activities
When at Gite des Roses, you can rent bicycles from a nearby rental company, who drop off and pick up. We are quite close to Futurescope theme park, lots of hiking can be done in the local area, horse riding centres are local has are fishing lakes. Lots of watersports can be found in Confolens, on the river, along with velo rail. zip wiring and bungee jumps can be found in a local town too.
In confolens there is a pottery studio where a husband & wife team do pottery & weave.
in our village we have a tai chi teacher, where you can have a lesson, he also is a practising Masseur.
