The house

  • Quiet, rural area

Maison du Jardin is the largest of our three properties, an individual cottage set in the front courtyard overlooking the orchard. It has its own private terrace nestled in the center of the gardens. There are three double bedrooms, two bathrooms, one being an en-suite and two separate w/c's.
The attractive coloured beams and open plan living area incorporates the sitting room, dining and kitchen area (40m2) with the staircase to the upstairs mezzanine twin bed bedroom (16m2).
There is a large TV (106cm) and DVD player. The kitchen is fully equipped to include electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine.
The main double bedroom (20m2) is decorated to ensure that comfort and style are priority, with a leather bed and drapes, plenty of storage to include walk-in wardrobe and large en-suite facilities. The second double bedroom (12m2) comprises twin beds (which can be converted to a double), light oak furniture with a large built in wardrobe.
The property is provided with patio tables and chairs for all the gites; they are located on the terrace pool area and in the garden to ensure sun all day and early evening, it's ideal for eating breakfast, lunch and dinner outside. Sun loungers and umbrellas are also provided for the garden and the pool area. Each of the gites is equipped with a barbecue and tools for 'al fresco' dining.
We supply a FREE welcome pack in all our gites on arrival and there is also free parking for your car.

Gite Maison du Jardin forms part of Maison du Ruisseau the main house where you can rent all 3 gites should you wish.

    Vriendelijke groeten
    Ian en Valerie.

Restaurants:
Here are just a few of the dozens of restaurants around the area that we recommend. You can always find new places to eat!
La Boule D'Or - French/European: Small local restaurant, local produce, good set menu, great value, eat inside or outside in the lovely garden to the rear. Just 10mins away.
Graines et Garenne - Chateauneuf-sur-Charente: Opened in 2009 very popular with our clients. Good value, local menu pretty terrace.
Mas Charentais - Chateauneuf-sur-Charente: Traditional restaurant with panoramic views of the valley and river below from a beautiful sunny terrace.
Le Chateau - Barbezieux: A relaxed family restaurant, opposite the impressive Chateau at Barbezieux, serving pasta and pizzas as well as an extensive french menu.
Chez Paul – Angouleme: A very popular place to eat set in the old part of the town. With its quirky decor and lively ambience, especially the beautiful terrace in the summer. It boasts a cuisine that is based on fresh local market produce and offers a wide selection of meat, fish and vegetarian food.
