The villa is approx. a 150 years old is set on a terrain of about 1.5 hectares. The house is surrounded by a number of beautiful century old trees. Several terraces, sun or shade, depending on your needs. A new pool of 12 by 6 metres. Completely fenced, with luxury sun beds and large parasols.
While decorating the villa, authentic elements have been spared. The furniture is comfortable, luxuruous but practical. Shops for daily supplies in: Aubeterrre sur Dronne (3km), St. Severin (5km), Riberac (14km) or Chalais (10 km).

Villa De Banninck is situated in Poitou Charente (Perigord vert, on the border of Dordogne and Charente) on the road between the towns of Aubeterre-sur- Dronne and Saint Severin. Beautiful hill country with after each road bend a new experience. The area is mainly agricultural (sunflowers, corn, walnuts, cereals and a few vineyards) The provincial towns of Bergerac, Angoulême, Perigueux, are just an hour away. Bordeaux and the Atlantic coast are a little over an hour by car. A visit to these century old towns is certainly worth the drive.
The cosy local market in Aubeterre-sur Dronne (Sunday mornings) is highly recommended, just as the much larger market on Friday mornings in Riverac.
The climate is mild in summer with a lot of sunshine and occasionally a refreshing shower.

Restaurants, food & wine
The famous vineyards around Bordeaux can be reached within an hour. In the direct surroundings there are also smaller vineyards that do direct wine sales.
The Perigord region is famous for its important culinary ingredients, which are used generously in local cuisine: foie gras, confits, truffles, cépe, walnuts, various cheeses. And of course the 'gésiers de canard' (duck gizzards). Apart from specialised stores most of these delicacies are also sold at local markets.
Activities
The villa is only 5 minutes driving from the 9 holes golfcourse Langevau. The river Dronne offers many possibilities for: fishing, swimming (beautiful small sand beach at Aubeterre) and canoeing. In the immediate vincinity are several cycling and walking tracks.
The terrain itself is large, with besides the pool enough space for outdoor activities. Playing equipment is available for our guests: badminton, football, jeu de boules.

Reviews
Marianne Derksen from Angerlo,
I had a great time with my familie in Villa de Banninck. A beautiful house, with a warm atmosphere. Big rooms, a nice shower, a lovely terrace with a lot of lavander. You have everthing you need. The weather was great so we spent a lot of time at the swimmingpool. Aubeterre is a nice village to go to. The Banninck is a great place to to stay and relax.
Anne uit Utrecht from Utrecht,
What a great house this is!! It's very beautiful and relaxing. May is a great time of the year to be here because the neighbourhood is full of flowers and greener then green hills.
If you want you can stay a week on the premise because of the large garden, the pool and the nice big rooms in the house. But all the villages close to the home are so beatiful that we recommend to go there and eat in one of the lovely restaurants and bistro's.
We had a great time with friends!!
René Bolier from Utrecht,
If you want to relax and enjoy the sun in a quite, beautiful neighborhood this is the place to be. The house has everything you want and more; beautiful, large bedrooms, great bathrooms, a huge kitchen, a dining room and a place where you can chill on the couch. The pool is beautiful and extremely clean. Make sure to bring your shoes, because there are many pretty, little places in the neighborhood you can discover and if you like golfing, kayaking, cycling, playing tennis etc.; it's all possible. Highly recommended!
