The house
Luxury holiday home / gite for 4 - 8 persons in the Dordogne in the sunny southwest of France. Situated on holiday park Village le Chat at a lake with a large swimming pool. Very large garden and beautiful unobstructed views of the vast hilly landscape.
The gite has been completely renovated in 2017 - 2018 and equipped with all conveniences, such as two modern bathrooms with new plumbing, new Bulthaup kitchen (and of course Dutch TV and fast WiFi). The holiday home is conveniently located near all amenities on the park and has an architecturally landscaped garden of over 4,000 square metres with fruit trees, Canadian maple trees, Cypresses and so on. The garden offers a lot of privacy, several terraces with excellent sun positions and an undisturbed view over the rolling hills of the Dordogne.
The holiday house has two floors. On the ground floor there is a double bedroom (with double bed) and an en-suite bathroom with two sinks, bath, shower and toilet. In the hall is another toilet. In the large utility room there is a washing machine and dryer. From the comfortable and cosy sitting room you have a beautiful view on all sides.
The spacious open kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, oven, microwave, induction cooker, two refrigerators with separate freezer compartments, Nespresso coffee machine with milk frother, separate wine fridge and so on.
The French doors give access to the terrace and the veranda with a large dining table, Weber BBQ, comfortable loungers and lounge set. In the garden is a trampoline and a playground for the little ones. A hammock between the trees and you will completely relax.
On the first floor of the gite there are 3 bedrooms, each for 2 persons. One bedroom with a double bed and two washbasins, one bedroom with two single beds and one bedroom with a doubter and a sofa bed. The bathroom has a double washbasin and a shower. There is another toilet on the landing.

The Dordogne. A beautiful and much-sung department in the south-west of France, named after the River Dordogne. On both sides of the river, a holiday land 'pur sang' stretches out. The Dordogne has many castles and landscapes, a rich history and many cultural treasures such as the caves of Lascaux. Moreover, it is a region to enjoy food, fine wines and beautiful local products.

Wat een feest om hier met ons gezin te mogen zijn. We hadden het geluk dat er in de hele mooie en grote tuin ook nog een nieuwe trampoline werd geplaatst. De voorkant van het huis grenst aan alle sportieve activiteiten van het park En het restaurant. Dus praktisch gezien ook een top plek. Binnen is het heerlijk cool en buiten genoeg zon en schaduwplekken. Dit huis is echt een aanrader voor een heel ontspannen, sportieve en leuke vakantie!

Wat een heerlijk huis en wat een heerlijke plek. Voorzien van alle gemakken (ook supersnelle Wifi) en alles nieuw en lekker fris. Ook in de omgeving veel te doen. We hebben mooie wandelingen gemaakt in de natuur, lekker gegeten bij goede restaurantjes (Le Moulin de la Tardoire was onze favoriet), mijn man en onze jongens hebben hun hart kunnen ophalen op de mountainbike, we hebben een dagje geshopped in Bordeaux en zo verder. Natuurlijk hebben we ook af en toe genetflixed ;-) Het was een heerlijke vakantie, zeker een aanrader.

Fijn huis met alles erop en eraan. Rustig park, zwembad en meertje dichtbij, goed onderhouden. Alles voor een fijne vakantie!!
Restaurants, food & wine
There are plenty of good restaurants in the Dordogne and it is also fun to discover one yourself. Your exploration need not be very expensive. Menus start at 10 euros and you can eat very well for that. A bit more surprise and quality is of course always a bit more expensive, but then it often exceeds expectations! The wines from the Dordogne are also very popular with connoisseurs. At the 2017 Concours de Bordeaux-Vins d'Aquitaine, 28 entries from the Perigord were awarded a gold medal.
Activities
At holiday park Village le Chat (Zoover score 8.7!) you can swim, fish, play tennis, volleyball, football, midget golf, table tennis and jeu de boules. There is a nice restaurant with a terrace and the animation for the children offers plenty of opportunity for fun and new friendships. Next to the park is the 18 hole golf course Golf de la Preze. Guests of Le Chat also receive a 25% discount. In the area you can visit many castles, mountain biking, horse riding, karting, canoeing, hiking, cycling, fishing (including trout fishing) etc. Nice places to visit in the area are: Bordeaux, Brantome, Angouleme, Villebois. Hiking
The beautiful varied French landscape with picturesque villages, forests, lakes and meadows with the famous Limousines is also very suitable for walking. One of the many marked walking routes starts directly from the park.
Mountain biking and cycling
In the unspoilt hilly nature reserve with many forests, meadows, lakes and fast-flowing rivers, you can enjoy cycling and mountain biking. Detailed maps with marked routes for beautiful tours are for sale at the reception, or available at the 'Office du Tourisme' in nearby Montbron. From the park there are several bicycle routes, varying from 15 km to more than 100 km. The routes for the mountain bikers have varying degrees of difficulty, from easy (green), medium (blue), difficult (red) to very difficult (black). The same applies to the cyclists.
Canoeing
Paddling to the rhythm of the current. A wonderful activity, such a canoe trip of a few hours on the river "La Tardoire" in the east or on the "Dronne" in the south. On the way, you will see water mills, old manors and castles. And of course, there are small French restaurants everywhere where you can have a delicious meal at lunchtime.
Bordeaux, hip and happening!
Voted the most attractive city in 2017 by Lonley Planet and number 2 on the list of 'must-see cities 2016' by the New York Times. Capital of wine! The historic centre is UNESCO heritage with numerous monuments, old and narrow streets, squares, terraces and wine bars. The museum 'La Cite du Vin' has been declared one of the best museums in the world by National Geographic. The kilometres of boulevards along the river La Garonne are ideal for strolling and relaxing. In short, a beautiful and wonderful city to visit!
Golf at 'Golf International de la Preze
Next to the park is a challenging 18-hole golf course. There is also an 18-hole par 3 golf course. This course is suitable for the less advanced player and is also accessible without a golf permit. You can take golf lessons to improve your game.
Horse riding
Close to Villa 'Village' there is a riding school where you can make a ride on a pony or a horse (possibly under supervision). Quite an experience for horse lovers!
Karting on outdoor track
At 16 km from the holiday home, the outdoor circuit of Teyjat lifts for the (budding) Jos Verstappens among us. There is a challenging circuit for every age group.
Futuroscope, amusement park
Futuroscope is a leading amusement park in Poitiers. With more than 70 attractions and shows, you imagine yourself in the future. The park has Europe's largest cinema screen housed in a giant tomato. Suitable for young and old. It is an experience to be here.
Climbing and scrambling in the 'Parc Aventure
At 15 km from Villa 'Village' you will find the 'Aventure Park Lacs de Haute Charente'. Here the young people (and adults too, for that matter) can enjoy themselves on beautiful climbing courses, close to the ground and high up in the trees. With different levels of difficulty, there is something for everyone (even the little ones). Thanks to professional climbing equipment, nothing can go wrong.
Royan, seaside resort with famous zoo
Royan is a very popular seaside resort with its wide sandy beaches and beautiful promenade. "La Palmyre" is the most beautiful zoo of France. Definitely worth a visit.
Castle La Rochefoucauld
In La Rochefoucauld stands one of France's most beautiful castles. It can be visited and children can dress up as knights or ladies in the castle. History comes to life here! You can also visit a church and two monasteries from the Middle Ages in this town.
Angouleme, beautiful old city
Angouleme is the capital of the Charente. It is a beautiful old city, where you can enjoy shopping. In the city, you can visit various monuments and the fun children's playground Kizoe Avenues is worth a visit. Furthermore, you can visit the museum of archaeology and the comic book museum.
Limoges, known for French porcelain
Limoges is a pleasant shopping city with many monumental buildings. It is the cradle of French porcelain.
Buy regional products in Brantome
Brantome is a cosy, old city, partly built in the rocks. The centre of the town is surrounded by water with many waterfalls. A tour boat makes trips around the old town. On the shore, a weekly market is held every Friday morning, where you can buy local products. Also visit the prehistoric caves of Villars.
Massacre of Oradour-sur-Glane
Close to Limoges, lies the village of Oradour-sur-Glane. At the end of the Second World War, almost the entire population of this village was killed by the Germans and the houses were set on fire. It has been left in its original state and is open for visits. Very impressive!
Perigueux, capital of the Dordogne
Perigueux is an atmospheric city with nice shopping streets and squares. The old cathedral is known for its beautiful carvings.

Additional price info and offers
Prices are based on a maximum stay of 8 persons in the villa. A security deposit of 300 euros must be paid on arrival to cover key loss and/or other damages and will be settled at the end of the stay. The final cleaning is obligatory and costs 100 euro for 2 persons occupancy, 120 euro for 4 persons occupancy, 140 euro for 6 persons occupancy and 160 euro for 8 persons occupancy. All linen and bath towels are excluded. Electricity is charged at cost based on metered consumption. Optional: for an extra charge of 100 euros the house will be cleaned in between.
