The house
The entire cottage has been renovated from top to bottom, with a separate fully equipped eat-in kitchen. Gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave & fridge freezer
The living area with a beautiful wood burning fireplace, plenty of space to relax. English & French channel TV, dvd player & music centre. The living area looks out over the length of the garden.
There are 2 full bathrooms both on the ground floor & 1 is ensuite. Three very spacious bedrooms, two double & one which is the twin room is upstairs.

The cottage is a 5 minute drive to the quaint town of Chalais. Chalais has its own Chateau which is open to the public & well worth a visit.
There are many lovely walks from the cottage. It is approximately an hours walk into Chalais with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside.
There are many places to visit all within an hour of your stay.
Aubeterre: one of the prettiest villages in the Charente,only 20 mins away.

There is a lovely lake at La Jemaye which is surrounded by trees & has a great play area for the children.

Fantastic house, garden, pool and the most friendly hosts you can imagine! Nice decorated cosy cottage. We loved the silence there and the therapies they offer.

Activities
Maison du Bonheur is set at the end of a quiet lane looking out to surrounding fields of corn & sunflowers. We have walking tracks all around us where you can walk for miles and not see another person for hours. There are also off road bike trails which are signposted. The roads are amazingly quiet for those looking to go road cycling.
