Welcome to our dream holiday home near Chalais, France! Located on a hilltop between the beautiful Cognac region and the enchanting Dordogne, this holiday home offers everything you need for an unforgettable holiday. Whether you are travelling with a large family, two families, or with grandparents, this house is the perfect base.

Spacious accommodation: The house features four spacious bedrooms and three neat bathrooms, all on the ground floor. Each bedroom can accommodate two guests. So the size is ideal for up to eight people. There is also enough space to set up a tent in the garden for additional guests (on request).
Modern amenities: Enjoy a fully equipped open kitchen equipped with dishwasher, very spacious fridge, Nespresso machine and even a panini maker. Adjacent is the cosy dining and living room with wood-burning stove and equipped with television with Chromecast so you can keep watching your Netflix series.
Private pool: Relax at your own private 4 x 8 metre pool, perfect for sunny days, with adjacent luxury wooden deck with sun loungers and parasol.
Lovely terrace: The terrace, with cosy dining table, is covered and also features a barbecue. Ideal for lovely long warm (summer) evenings.
Lovely spacious views: The 2000 m² plot offers unobstructed views over the surrounding (sunflower) fields and the castle of Chalais. The house is located freely on a hill, which gives a wonderful feeling of privacy.

The house is less than a kilometre from the village of Chalais. It is possible to walk or cycle to the village for a delicious croissant at the local bakery. The village also offers a large supermarket, which is ideal for larger groceries. By car, you can reach the village in about 3 minutes.

Chalais is in the Charente region, known for its rolling hills with sunflowers or vines, lovely towns and its wonderful climate.
From the house, you can go to both the Cognac region and the Dordogne by car. Both regions are known for their delights and opportunities. This makes it the ideal location for wine lovers and adventurers who want to enjoy the best that France has to offer.
Larger cities nearby include Bordeaux (about an hour's drive), Perigueux (about an hour's drive). But certainly the small villages and towns nearby also offer plenty of conviviality and culture. Think of Aubeterre sur Dronne, with its famous underground church, Angoulême and St Emilion with its world-famous wines!
The village also boasts a train station. By train, you can easily reach Angoulême and Bordeaux.
