The house
La Cour is a charming 2 bed property set on one level with French doors opening onto the shaded courtyard and terrace area with bbq. The main double bedroom also leads to another private fenced rear garden area perfect with families with small children. The second bedroom has twin beds. Separate shower room. La Cour has an open plan lounge, kitchen/dinner The kitchen is well equipped for all your needs including a gas cooker with hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and a washing machine. Basic essentials are also included, including salt, pepper, cooking oil, kitchen roll, foil, dish washing liquid, sacs for bins, cleaning products and tea towels.

The Bruet is a four cottage complex that is set in four acres of beautiful private parkland, surrounded by a further 5 acres of our fields, offering plenty of space to kick a ball, play badminton or boules. Perfect for couples and families.
Located in the peaceful village of Yviers with its bar/restaurant a 5 minute walk away. in the south Charente close the Dordogne.
Situated 4 km from the market town of Chalais with its Restaurants, bars, shops and the Monday morning market. Auberterre is officially listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France and is within a 15 minute drive, offering a river beach with children's play areas, café, fishing, swimming, canoeing and picnic areas. Brossac lake beach is 4km and has a Restaurant, water sports and mountain bike routes suitable for all abilities.
Great location for visits to Cognac, Bordeaux, Angouleme, St Emilion, Brantome, the coast....or just relax. The South Charente is blessed with one of the highest average hours of sun in France. Explore the area on foot, cycle or car amongst the vines, fields, and woodlands of this rural landscape.

Activities
Walking and Cycling on the doorstep, we have 4 bikes for our guests to use free of charge. river beaches can be found at nearby Aubeterre with its café canoeing and children's play area, also Brossac lake beach with restaurant. Horse riding for children and adults is a 15 minute drive in the nearby village of Montboyer.

Further remarks
Walking and cycling from the Le Bruet is excellent with free mounting bikes available for guests.
There is a large fenced 12m x 6m swimming pool with lovely views and reclining sun loungers. (open June - end of Sept)
There is a games room area with table tennis, table football and kids pool table, books and board games for children and adults.
We will not be held responsible to reimburse guests should the Government and or local laws forbid the use of water for pool maintenance, therefore forcing closure of the advertised swimming pool at Bruet Gites.
