The house
La Pommeraie has a large fitted solid wood kitchen with the mod-cons that you would expect when renting one of our gites. The kitchen also benefits from a breakfast bar and seating for 6..
Just off the kitchen is a utility room (washing machine) and toilet/ shower room.
The 38m2 lounge in La Pommeraie has a wealth of oak beams overhead and stone walls all around. We have laid out the room using quality upholstery and traditional furniture that sits beautifully in its environment. The lounge has a large LED tv with UK & French channels & blu-ray player.
Extra, comfortable seating is also in the garden room along with the dining furniture. The room has large b-ifolding doors that open up into the play area & gardens.
La Pommeraie has 3 bedrooms on the 1st floor. The master bedroom has an electric (fully adjustable) king size bed and en-suite shower/ toilet. A full size travel cot can be added if required.
Bedroom 2 has a double bed whilst bedroom 3 has 2 single beds.
Directly at the top of the stairs is a bathroom (bath/ toilet and hand basin).
All bedrooms have room fans for your comfort.

Our gites are set on the edge of a small hamlet in the Charente Maritime countryside. We are 15 minutes from our local market town of St Jean d'Angely, 20 minutes from the old Roman town of Saintes & 1 hour from the stunning coastal city of La Rochelle. Beaches are from 40 minutes away.

Restaurants, food & wine
Set close to the large town of Cognac we are surrounded by the vines that produce this fine spirit. We have a superb local producer just 2 minutes from our front gates where you can sample & buy some of the local produce, Local restaurants can be found 5 minutes away in the next village, whilst St Jean d'Angely (15 minutes) has a fine choice of places to eat & a few bars.
Activities
La Pommeraie is set in 6000m2 of parkland/ play areas. We are surrounded by countryside that is mainly vines & sunflowers and so a great place to explore on cycles.
On site we have 2 swimming pools, both heated & salt water. The largest one is 10 x 5 mtrs, whilst the small one is great for babies & very young children. In the same area is a 6 seat jacuzzi. We also have a full size Pirate Boat with a 30 mtr zip wire coming from it, 2 trampolines, table football, table tennis, a large boules court, football field, badminton & much more.

La Pommeraie & our other gites are part of a 250 year old stone building that was converted by ourselves between 2004 & 2005.

We supply the gite towels, but we do ask you to bring your own pool/ beach towels as we do NOT provide these.
