The house
The recent extension to our Cognac gite bathes the dining room in sunshine, but still keeps the gite cool during the warmest of Summer weather.
French doors open up into the dining room which then leads into the open plan kitchen/ lounge. The kitchen is fully fitted with a double oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. The washing machine is located just outside in the laundry room.
From the kitchen is the 2nd bedroom (2 single beds) and also the toilet and shower.
The lounge has comfortable furniture, a flat screen tv with UK and French channels, a DVD player, music hifi and lots of games / toys and books for all ages.
The main bedroom has a king size bed and complementing furniture. If needed a cot can be added to the main bedroom.
Do ask if we have other baby / child equipment as we can now provide quite a few items that will lessen the car load.

We are situated on the edge of a quiet hamlet with beautiful views over sunflower fields & vines. Bread and supplies can be bought from a local village, whilst 15 minutes away is our local market town for a great choice of shopping and restaurants etc. 40 minutes takes you to the wide beaches around Royan. 1 hour and you will be on the outskirts of stunning La Rochelle. and the famous town of Cognac is a 25 minute drive away whilst the old Roman town of Saintes is a 20 minute drive away.

Restaurants, food & wine
If it's a quick drink with a snack then we have a choice of 2 bars in a large village 6 minutes away. The market town of St Jean D'Angely 15 minutes away offers a large choice of restaurants and bars If it's local cognac and Pinneau then our local producer 'Bonnin' offers a chance to sample and buy to get a real taste of what our area has to offer. Head off towards the coast and you'll discover some of the Atlantic coasts very best seafood dining.
Activities
A holiday here in one of our gites will leave you with fantastic memories, so here's why..
Our gites sit in 6000m2 of (secure) play areas full of swings, a wooden pirate boat, a 30mtr zip wire, table tennis, table football, slides, football goals, a see-saw, 2 trampolines, a separate kiddie's play area with a sand pit and wendy house and lots more. We have an expression.. happy children = happy parents.
Don't forget the 2 salt water, heated pools (the main one with large water slide) and the 6 seat hot tub (for over 16's).
We also have lots of free to use cycles to explore our little corner of France including it's sunflowers & vines.

Additional price info and offers
We hope that the gite is left in the same clean condition as it was found. If not that a €40 (€20 for the BBQ) charge will be applied at the end of your stay.
All gite towels are included in the price apart from Pool/ beach towels, so please bring your own.
